My go-to has always been the 4800+ series FoodSaver models, as they have been good cost effective work horses for my needs. I was impressed with Caso's Sous Vide cooker, so I thought I'd give this rig a shot.Its compact, tight, sturdy, well built, and a powerful little sucker. (Literally). I did some testing on some salami and other common foods and it really does a tight robust removal of ALL the air. Caso's bag rolls seem a little more heavy duty compared to FoodSaver. Its perhaps not quite as intuitive and "user friendly" as the FoodSaver line. I had to do a full read of the manual to wrap my head around the steps of cutting bags, sealing bags, etc. It's just a bit slower, and a tiny bit more noisy. But all and all not bad really. Just different as I was used to a different process. I like the ability to manually adjust how much vacuum time/power depending on the food. Makes for a more customizable result.All and all, this is a decent rig for the price. I wouldn't say this is setup or intended for volume repetitive vacuum sealing of large amounts of food. It's more of an occasional use machine that should last a long time. More than enough for once in a while use as needed in most household kitchens. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compact yet powerfull replacement for old FoodSaver VAC1050 *by B***T on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 3, 2020* After a long search for vac/sealer as good as my 20 year old FoodSaver I found this one. I wanted a compact unit that would fit in a kitchen drawer and a strong enough vacuum to do the job. To my surprise the roll storage on this Caso is detachable, making the depth (front to back) only 6.75 inches. Other compact units I've tried were weak and cheaply constructed. This unit appears to have the same sound and vacuum strength as my old FoodSaver. Caso Designs website lists vacuum at 12L/min.@220-240 volts (European), which is 25% stronger than other compacts. The only negative is the cord storage. The recessed pocket in the bottom of the sealer is too small for the cord and plug to lay flush, thus the unit doesn't rest flat unless you extend the cord outside the pocket. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ functional with great vacuum power! *by L***A on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 16, 2019* This vacuum sealer works great and as expected. We use it to freeze meat/fish or to prolong the life of just about anything in the refrigerator. Have also had success using vacuum-sealed items for sous vide cooking.
