Precise Sound, From Soft to Loud
I know that a lot of people are getting away from the large speakers of the past -- and I was one of them, simply for space reasons -- but these tall, slender floor speakers are an excellent reason why that shouldn't be so. Klipsch delivers precise sound from highs to low, and the listening experience is worlds away from small speakers, especially singletons that attempt to give a "surround sound" feel from a single point. These are worth every penny. The manufacturer recommends these for small to medium-size rooms; however, ours is a large room that is considerably longer than it is wide, and we've placed ours on one of the short walls. These speakers easily fill the entire room and the one next to it. Potential buyers should note that, like most premium speakers, these Klipsch speakers are sold as singles. You need to buy two.Although bass is defined, it will likely be perceived as weak by those who are used to bass-boosted headphones. People who like to feel their bass should also invest in a subwoofer. The best way I can describe the bass through these is that they hit the bass, but they don't resonate. Our set-up doesn't have room for a subwoofer, however, and I only occasionally miss it. I love that I can hear individual instruments without distortion and that vocals come through clean and complex. Because the footprint is so small -- only 8" wide and 14" deep -- they can fit next to cabinets even in smaller rooms.Even when I'm in a non-optimal location such as in the next room, the sound is great, but the experience is amazing when I'm seated several feet back from them and right in the middle. These Klipsch speakers reproduce stereo sound as it should be.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

but I felt in love for those little speakers
in early 2000,I bought a series call quintet, from klipsch,by that time,I did't get the subwoofer.neither the center channel, but I felt in love for those little speakers.A couple years ago,I bought a jbl speakers, they were a pair of tower and center channel, called balboa series, but a keep the small klipsch speakers as surround channel, but this year I got that opportunity to get all set.I saw a offer from my local electronic store, the tower speakers were half price, the center was also on discount, and the 12 inch subwoofer was also half price,so I just bought the subwoofer, and when i heard it. I like how the subwoofer handle the bass,so then I thought,I need to get the rest of the series to heard them,I wait almost moth and half, because the offer was expired,so any way here I am,with my full klipsch speaker, and they sound great, after few adjustments in my receiver.I notice that I need to reduce the treble, because they sound too sharp, compare to my old's jbl's,so I'm happy with them, they match my tv's stan, and the tower speakers got them thru Amazon seller,I paid no deliver, and to tax on them, they were brand new,so I save $$$$$$$. .

Fantastic Sound
I will update this since I have not had these speakers all that long, and I know there is a break in period.I have not had any big cabinet speakers in some time, so anything was going to sound better than what I have been hearing through the little Bluetooth speaker I use. These exceeded all expectations, however. The sound is just so crisp and so full that I have been just blown away. Some complain about this brand being too "bright," but I did not find the treble to be overwhelming until I cranked them up good and loud. I do not know of any speaker at that volume that would not convey the highs as a little bit harsh. I think this has more to do with the human ear than anything else. At more normal listening levels, they are completely balanced and sound just beautiful.I am pushing them with a rather old Yamaha stereo receiver, about 40 watts per side. No home theater here; straight up old-school stereo. These speakers seem to be very efficient. At about 50% volume, they were producing a whole lot of sound. As an incidental, they are very aesthetically pleasing. I bought the black cabinets and they are going to sit on either side of a black entertainment center. These speakers are very tall, but the ceiling in my living room is 15 feet so these will fit in quite nicely.I put on some Moody Blues and some Steely Dan to give them a test drive and the nuance and tonal clarity was nothing short of amazing. These speakers sound great, pure and simple. They sound closer to live music than any speakers I have ever heard.Buying speakers is not what it used to be. The electronics stores no longer have the back room with all of the speakers set up. Buying is really a leap of faith based on reviews. These were more expensive than some I was eyeballing, but positive review after positive review convinced me that these were what I wanted, and that was absolutely the right decision. Speakers are all about sound, and these have it.As far as packaging, there was one small puncture on the front of one of the boxes, and the Styrofoam piece on the top of each box was broken in exactly the same fashion. Very strange. The speakers were pristine, however. The quality of the speakers is obvious. Down to the size and build of the little rubber feet. The grill fits beautifully. I just can't think of anything bad to say about them.UPDATE: Having had these for a year now, I am still just as impressed. They are great with my new turntable and old vinyl. Digital music is so sanitized but the analog sound is superb. All the cracks and pops right where I remember them from my teenage years.
