Q: Will this also fit the Leica Q3?

Compare the dimensions of the Q2 to the Q3. If they are the same, it will fit. I don't have a Q3 so that is the only way I can answer your question.

Q: Is the dovetail arca swiss compatible?

Yes, I tried out a Really Right Stuff (Arca Swiss compatible) clamp that worked just fine.

Q: does the left upper leater part stick out, grabs clothing etc..(looking at back)?

I have not had this problem with the upper left portion of the grip. In order to ensure it does not occur I place the small piece of leather that comes with Leica straps between the ring and the camera body. That keeps the piece you are referring to snug against the camera.

Q: Description states dovetail plate is removable. How is this accomplished?

The dovetail plate can be removed by unscrewing the 2 hex socket cup head screws on the bottom of the case.
