Outstanding Value and Durable
I purchased three of these GI 2Qt canteen bladders. Thusfar, I have used them each a handful of times. Between uses they have been cleaned with mild soap and properly dried. As of now I rate this canteen bladder 5-stars. I disagree with many of the other reviews and will provide a review based on my own experience. The capacity of these bladders is great. The canteen's ability to collapse as you consume the contents (or for storage/transport) is outstanding. Likewise, an often overlooked benefit is that this will prevent the contents from sloshing about while on the move. While there is obvious military benefit to being quiet, this would also be desirable for hunters and some other folks. The biggest issue is, does it hold water? Well, none of the canteens I purchased have leaked, not from the cap or elsewhere. Other reviewers claim they leak terribly. This could be variation in the manufacturing, but I suspect it is some form of user-error as I have three and all of them are water-tight. To test this I put one on it's side for a few days, filled to the brim. Not a drop. Pushing down on the bladder and I couldn't get any water to seep out. I put one upside down next to it, and likewise, no leaking. I filled one halfway, inverted it, and shook it up a ton, no leaking. I went on a ten mile hike with two of these stored loose (without the covers) in a backpack, so they were free to tumble and roll around, and not a single drop leaked from the canteen. I can't speak for others, but mine have not leaked.I also have not noticed any terrible taste being imparted to water stored in the canteen. I suspect those who do are using the wrong kind of soap to wash it out. A drop of mild dishwashing soap into a half-filled canteen, shaken hard, should be enough. Rinse thoroughly and then let it dry. Fill it before you need it and empty it when you are done, wash, and dry thoroughly. While they could be used that way, these canteens aren't intended for long-term water storage. They are BPA free. The canteen is not difficult to handle, fill, or drink from. The main opening is approximately 1.25" in diameter. This allows fast filling from a variety of sources and it can also be dumped quickly if needed. When drinking or pouring, it is easier to hold the canteen in a vertical orientation rather than flat (as one might drink from a flask). This provides greater control of the flow. The cap has an integrated NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) self-sealing valve that accepts drinking hoses from NATO-standard gas masks. One reviewer mentioned them getting scratched. I'm not sure how this happened, and I'm thinking it is possible the review was for a different product. Regardless, I have had mine out in the woods and on the rocks, and they have not been scratched. Used in conjunction with the bladder cover and it is fully protected.I really wouldn't change anything about the canteen. It works great, is extremely affordable and is dead simple to use and maintain. Beats the old aluminum canteens for sure, and in my opinion is better (for hikes and camping) than even the modern Lexan and titanium bottles that are so popular. The argument could be made that being soft-walled they could be punctured, which is true, but unless you are in a knife-fight or facing off with a disgruntled porcupine, I don't think that is a serious concern. The material is thick and resistant to being cut by anything shy of a blade.Hope it helps!

Good Canteen
I bought these as an easy way to carry lots of water in our packs for long hikes. I like that it holds a full 2 quarts, and if my wife and I are both carrying one then we have a full gallon of extra water without having to mess with hydration packs.I'd give it five stars but when I ordered the first two, one of the bladders was defective and leaked when I filled it. Sent that one back, got another that also leaked. I really wanted this to work - so I tried one last time and finally got a second canteen that didn't leak. These Fox Outdoor bladders are three separate pieces (bladder, cap, and connector) and are of better quality than some of the ones on Amazon that are all molded as one piece.

Great, but leaky
Great for running for hiking, easier to store and carry than some of the tall cylindrical metal canteens.+Doesn't dent like those metal bottles or canteens+Can take a beating+Easy to pack away-Leaks at the cap-Plastic taste added to the water no matter how many washes I use this canteen on runs and hikes and I like it because unlike my Sigg or Klean bottles that dent or scratch, this thing just shrugs it off. The only thing I would add to it is a rubber or silicon layer to the cap to prevent leaking, a piece to attach the cap to the canteen, a material (don't ask me for what kind, that's one for the research and development department) to coat the inside of the canteen to prevent the plastic taste.

Canteen
Recieved this canteen not to long ago. It holds quite a bit of water, so it is also large. Fits right on my backpack though. Great for hikes and Search and Resuce Excersises. Soft, durable plastic. Only downside is that it will leak if filled close to the top and left on its side. Other than that I would recomend this item. Came within time and I wasnt disappointed.

Good for long hikes
I sometimes run out of water during a long day of hunting on hot days. This 2 quart bladder is light and holds enough water for my day outing in the field. I would recommend this item to my friends and anyone who need enough water while out on a day of hiking or hunting. Being finiky about the taste of plastic, I found the water taste and smell of plastic was nearly nil. I would recommend this to anyone who need enough water for a good days outing.

Love the Canteen Bladder
This bladder is very flexible and seems quite durable. Time will tell if it is or not, but for now, I love the product and intend to add more to my 'survival' kit. Note that it does NOT come with a carrying pouch.

works good for its itended purpose just not much more
The only problem is after 3 months the chlorine pool shock I put in it exhausted gas so bad it almost exploded and I think it ate into the plastic... so dont use it for that... at least for long periods of time. For water its great.
