It seems that the product cells are manufactured in Japan, with the remainder of the battery manufactured, and full product assembled, in the PRC.The product arrived promptly, with the battery in an individual plastic case for protection during storage. The battery was charged with the Wasabi battery charger noted above. The charged battery was inserted in the camera and worked very well. Note that this Wasabi battery is 1250 mAh - a greater capacity than the original Sony battery with 910mAh. Also, on the camera screen, the Wasabi battery indicates the remaining battery capacity both in bars on the battery image and in minutes, whereas the original Sony battery only shows the remaining battery capacity in bars on the battery image and does not indicate the remaining minutes.The lifespan of a charged battery in storage is yet to be determined.Overall, based on the foregoing, this battery is highly recommended for the Sony DSC-HX9V. ### ⭐ Defective Battery *by N***E on February 27, 2014* Returned for refund from Amazon.Battery was defective when I received it. Would not charge in a genuine Sony Charger, Shows only 74 minutes (Sony battery fully charge shows 140 minutes).Also HX-20 camera has the capability to charge through the USB connector.
