85% good, but a couple of annoying things
I've had this HTC BT Adapter for a little over a month, and I've been mostly pleased with it. It pairs easily with my HTC One M8, though friends have been able to easily pair their non HTC phones with the device. Audio quality sounds great to me. Although I'm not an audiophile myself, a friend who is was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality and commented that it was "very good."I haven't had a chance to check the battery life yet because I am just leaving it plugged in so it is always charging while the car is running. I installed an app on my phone called "Bluetooth connect and play" which automatically plays from a chosen media source as soon as the BT connection is made. This allows me to simply push the button on the adapter to turn on bluetooth and listen to music without ever removing my phone from my pocket.Although overall I've been very pleased with this purchase, I can find three elements to nitpick which prevent me from giving it a 5 star rating. Least annoying to most:Due to the simplistic design of the adapter, the charger plugs into the back of the device. Because I leave mine plugged in, and my aux in is below the radio face on the center stack, I always have a cord running to the center of my console, as well as the fact the the rear charger placement ends up adding a couple inches further sticking out once plugged in. Aside from cosmetic concerns, I'm a bit worried that over a long period of time, the extra weight of the charger being plugged in on the back of the adapter could damage the aux in port on my car. In my case, an aux plug set to a 90 degree angle to the rest of the device would be nice.Second, the red and green LED indicator is unnecessarily complex. I think this is a case of the device trying to be too helpful... fast green blinking = pairing mode, three blink bursts = on... beyond that I don't care what its trying to tell me with alternating fast red and green blinks, or solid red light (maybe that means charged). Granted I could look this up in the little piece of paper that came with it, but I threw that s*** away as soon as I opened the package. Finally, the one truly annoying aspect of this charger is the on/off button. A simple push will not turn the device on; you need to hold the button down for about 1.5 sec to turn power on. Hold the button for 2 sec and you will put it into pairing mode, which necessitates holding the button again to turn it off and trying again. Because of this, it takes some time to get it right. This seems like something that could be very easily avoided. Despite this very first world problem, pleased with the purchase and would recommend it.

... devices prior to this purchase and I've been sorely disappointed in their performance
I've purchased two different bluetooth streaming devices prior to this purchase and I've been sorely disappointed in their performance. I purchased a brand new vehicle and I opted to not upgrade to the touchscreen with apps (including Pandora support, etc) My car has bluetooth, and will connect my phone for calls, etc, but not for streaming music directly. Dumb. But I digress. So after reading some relatively decent reviews for this HTC Bluetooh Streamer, I decided to go for it, and I'm so glad I did. First of all, the design is wonderful, it's the perfect size, and eased my concerns about whether it would fit (My aux jack is in my console, and the HTC plugs in beautifully, and still allows plenty of room for it to close) Secondly, the biggest problem I had with the others I've purchased is that there was an awful buzz in the audio if the unit was plugged in, which thankfully HTC must have put some effort into making sure that doesn't happen with this one, as the music is crystal clear. And lastly, previous streamers I have tried seem to have a much lower volume than both radio and XM, but HTC got this right as well, as I can listen to this in my Cruze and not have to have the volume at full blast. If you have the same need for this type of product and in a similar situation as me with previous streamers, don't hesitate on this one.

Audio cuts out for a second every few minutes...
I was using this in my 09 Jaguar XF. I had it plugged into the Aux port and I have it charging constantly via the USB port. This adapter doesn't automatically reconnect which is a huge pain. I setup a NFC tag I can tap when I get into the car. I programed the NFC tag to make the phone/adapter connect and it opens Spotify so I can start playing music right away. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S3. The only major issue is with the audio. The sound is pretty good (below normal aux quality in my opinion) but the audio clips out for a second at least once per song. I tried 2 of these and both had the same issue. I then switched to a Blackberry music gateway (highly recommend over this due to automatic pairing) but after a while the clipping returned. I finally determined that the bluetooth connection with the car (phone only) was interfering with the media bluetooth connection to any other device. If I disconnect the bluetooth from the car the clipping stops even though the phone and the car connect back up soon after. The HTC clip is a good adapter I only wish it would automatically connect when getting into the car.

Well worth it
I bought this device for connecting my Droid DNA to my 1980's receiver. I am very pleased. There have been moments of mis-communication between my device and my phone. However of the amount of hours put towards device use I would estimate around 1 hiccup in connection (brief disconnect between the two devices) every 50 hours or so. So does it happen, yes. Does it ruin your entire experience, no.I am afraid I have no information about use in cars because I have a lack there of, but I did find that if you are looking for a semi permanent adapter for converting any sound system into a blue tooth sound system it is great. The connection works well through 3 walls (drywall, not concrete) of separation up to about 35 feet. I cannot test any further because that is the size of my apartment.I am most happy with the fact that you can charge and play at the same time. The other audio devices that I have similar to this for audio transfer do not have this capability.4 stars because it is not perfect as mentioned above, but close to it.

Quality product
The product is very nice. Quality of music is also good. Only draw back is its not having mic. You have to lift your phone, when you receive call.

Great sound, total wireless freedom.
This is the smallest device it's kind that I could find. I take this everywhere with me and plug it into portable ghetto blasters, car stereos and even home theater A/V receivers. Need to plug it into an input that is 2x RCA jacks? Just pick up a female 3.5 mm stereo to two RCA male adapter at any electronics supply store and you're good to go. This is my favorite new toy and what I like about it most is the amount of battery life you get. I do it full evening of entertaining at a dinner party without needing a recharge.

The real deal.
This adapter does exactly what it claims to and having my phones navigation come through my car speakers is awesome!
