Amazon Saves the Day!
I dropped my Google Nexus 7 about 3 months after I bought it and despite the protective case, I managed to crack the screen making it completely useless. I called a local repair shop that quoted me $160 and a 3 day wait while the part shipped. On day 4, late in the day, the shop manager called to tell me that the screen they have doesn't fit and, having done my research, I know from her description that the screen they have is the previous generation. I looked on Amazon, my go to retailer, and found this baby in stock. I called the shop back, determined they had made no progress on acquiring the correct screen, and asked what the service charge would be if I brought in a replacement screen. The end of the story: I bought the screen from Amazon with next day delivery and, at the end of the day, spent $140 on the project. The local shop is a franchise operation called CPR (Cell Phone Repair) by the way, and I cannot recommend them for tablet repair. Probably should have tried Geek Squad but my distaste for Best Buy prevented me making that call.

Screen Works, But...
If you have the patience and a broken screen is easy to fix, The philips screwdriver and spudger are cheap. The screwdriver shaft came loose from the handle after about the fourth screw on the battery. Fortunately, I have a set of metal "jewelers" screwdrivers to finish the job. I never used the two 'star' bit screwdrivers, so I can't comment. Four stars because the screen works perfectly!

Great Replacement Screen for the Google Nexus 2013
The LCD Screen works as expected and fits fine on the Tabled. One minor disappointment was that the Package did not include the Adhesive Tape.If the Tape would have been included I would have given five Stars to the Product.

Glass and digitizer but no frame or adhesive
You'll need a heat gun to take apart your old broken glass from the frame so that you can use this part, which does not include the frame. This is a lot more work than if you can find a part that already has the glass mounted to the frame. Also, this part does not include any pre-mounted (or otherwise) adhesive, so you'll have to find that separately in order to stick this part to your existing frame. If I had realized this would be what I was getting (the picture does show it clearly, but I didn't understand until I had taken the Nexus apart), I think I would have looked elsewhere, or waited for the price to drop further, or maybe just chucked the broken Nexus in the trash. On a more positive note, the part did arrive from China undamaged. It arrived a couple weeks ahead of the latest predicted delivery date, but this might be the luck of shipping schedules and nothing you can count on.

Be careful mounting it but it does work
perfect oem replacementI bought two of these for two seperate tablets they both work perfectly at first i thought one had a dead touch zone but I was mistaken.if you have a dead zone try gently pressing on the very edge all around the device this fixed my dead zone problem temporarily. The problem is when its mounted it needs as much support as possible from the tape or it will flex causing dead zones or phantom touches so I cover the entire area where the screen sits and problem solved.*****UPDATE*****Once replaced it is more fragile than oem I'm not sure if its the component itself or the frame has more give from being dismantled allowing the screen to flex and crack but either way it is much easier to crack so take care.

Worked just fine replacing my son's broken screen
Worked just fine replacing my son's broken screen. Be sure to note that this does not come with it's own adhesive. You may be able to escape not using it if you're careful and some residual adhesive from the old screen is present.

Wonderful OEM Replacement, make sure the cables are seated correctly when installing
Regarding the other reviews which state touch responsiveness was an issue after the replacement, I initially had the same issue.I couldn't even enter my pattern. After some additional research online, I found that one of the cables not being reinstalled correctly can casue this issue. I disassembled, and reseated the cables that were disconnected during the repair, and it worked like a charm.I do see some light bleed on the top in very dark scenes, but can't recall if this was the case with the factory screen. It also feels like this screen is a little thinner than OEM, but could be caused by thinner adhesive, so both issues are inconclusive.I am typing this review on the replacement screen, and have no issues.

Non-OEM product; failed soon
*UPDATE* one week after installing this screen it started to act erratically and soon stopped functioning at all. Downgrade to one star.--original review---I replaced the broken screen on my Nexus 7 2nd generation and this works quite well. However despite some comments saying this is an OEM part, it's not - it's apparent when I powered it up. The screen is noticeable dimmer at max brightness than the original, and it takes on a slight yellow tint. The touch sensor works well is very accurate. The instructions I followed are those from Repairs UK on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptPlFSCyfbA. There is another from Fixez that you can cross reference for better video quality; however the latter disassembles more parts than is necessary.Follow these tips BEFORE you order this part if you are unsure whether you can replace the screen yourself: Watch the video and follow the steps to remove the back cover and the whole screen assembly. Be very careful - you are certainly going to end up with small shards of broken glass everywhere. If you are unable to remove the broken screen without breaking something else, throw the whole thing in the trash and forget about it.Additional tools required to complete the job: a heat gun (a hair dryer may also work), a pair of tweezers, a sharp knife (I used Xacto) and adhesive tape . This product comes with a plastic opening tool (which I used) and set of smaller screwdrivers (which I did not need).

I've done an iPod screen in the past it the digitizer was horrible and very unresponsive
Hi, I bought this after looking at a lot of reviews. I've done an iPod screen in the past it the digitizer was horrible and very unresponsive. So I lowered my expectations but wanted to give it another try as service companies are so expensive for this service. I watch a youtube video on it and followed the instructions and found this screen to go in with out any problems. It takes a bit to get the old screen out and clean the old glue off but if you do this some care the new screen digitizer goes in without any problems. I didn't pre check the screen before I installed it (my bad!) but when I turned it on it fired up right away and there are no dead pixels and the digitizer works perfection. I definitely recommend this one. Also, the packaging was awesome, it was in a huge Styrofoam box with the digitizer wrapped in bubble rap.

Don't bother repairing.
Died after 3 months of use. Seriously issues with registration. If your screen is dead, I recommend just buying a new tablet. I spent not less than 100$ on repairs and this was completely not worth the time.
