Amelia Bedelia Makes a Friend (I Can Read Level 1)

My daughter loves reading the book

This was purchased as a teacher's gift for a teacher who has a library in her own classroom. This lady loved books so much that I thought her first grade class would enjoy having this in their collection. I purchased a few, tied them together and she was so greatful, considering she bought most of the books she owns herself. It was a win-win. My daughter got to read more, and she saved money!I did ask her which books she did NOT have but wanted. I didn't want duplicates and wanted her to have stuff off her wishlist. :)

Really like the level 1 books, very helpful for my kids who are just starting to read. The sentences are short and make for a less frustrating experience - so much better for confidence and repetition.

While it isn't like the classic Amelia Bedelia books, I liked it quite well. I hope the little ones do, too. I expect they will. I particularly like how Amelia Bedelia takes to her elderly neighbor. Our kids are so distanced from their grandparents, and it is important that they see good examples in literature, at the very least.

She really liked this book. Since her family moves often,the topic was appropriate.

My granddaughter is in kindergarten and enjoys reading several of the "I can Read" series books. She liked this story but didn't seem as enthusiastic as when she readA very cute story. My granddaughter is a kindergartner and enjoyed the story.

Amelia has a best friend living next door, but she moves. A new neighbor is a friendly grandmother. When her furniture is being moved into the house, Amelia imagines funny things based on pieces of furniture--like twins sleeping in a "twin bed" and a pool in a table for "pool table". The grandma has twin grandchildren so Amelia makes more friends rather than loosing friends as her old neighbor comes to visit them all. Cute story to read together, though a bit difficult for a very new reader.

Even after two years (since we are reading this book) this is still my daughter's favourite.

In our case I didn't realise it was a book for new readers so I read it to dd however for a child that can put words together this is a great book as they will want to know what happens.Recommended for girls (not sure about boys)

Only ordered this book last night and it arrived at Lunch time today I have had a quick look at the book and I am sure our Four year old Grandaughter will enjoy the story
