American Crew Shave Cream Oil, Ultra Gliding Shave Oil, 1.7 Fl Oz

I have a very difficult beard. I am fair-skinned and my beard is dark brown--almost black--and coarse. To get anything approximating a close shave, I have to shave "against the grain" of my beard, but with regular shaving cream, this results in a horrifying bloody mess. For many years I used an electric razor to avoid turning my jowls to raw hamburger every few days, but I was never satisfied with the results or with how long it took to get those lousy results. Then a friend told me about shaving oil, this brand in particular. I can shave with a blade every other day and get great results. I use a "Mach 3" blade and 5 drops of this oil, and that allows me to shave as close as I like, in any direction, with no irritation whatsoever. It's also great for shaving my Kojak-style bald head. Oh, and this stuff smells great, too. It's got clove oil and some other fragrant essential oils in it. I think the oils help keep my skin soft and smooth. I should also mention that one bottle lasts me several months, in case you are put off by what seems like a high price. Anyone who shaves with a blade owes it to him/herself to try this stuff.

This is the only shaving oil I've found that rinses clean off my Harry's razors. Other oils had me changing cartridges far more often. Highest recommendation due to reduced waste.

This is my second bottle & I use mine in the shower only. I’m not a hairy guy so this works on my whole head & face perfectly. It has a great subtle scent and a warming effect when applying. I’ve tried several others also but right now this is getting it done.

My husband loves this stuff! It took him a couple of times using it to get used to it because it gives such a close shave, but now that he’s got the hang of it, he really is glad I bought it for him.

There are two things that bothered me about shave oil. First, the oil is down right messy. It gets all over the surface of the sink when shaving and then everything sticks to the oil. I don't want to clean my sink everytime after I shave. I suppose if you live alone and don't have a wife to nag you then this wouldn't matter to you. The oil causes the blade to clog with oil and hair. All you have to do to remove the oil on the blade is to rinse it under hot water, but I don't shave with hot water (more like luke warm). This means I would have to adjust the water temperature each time after I rinse the blade. Not a huge deal but a bit of a pain when your faucet is not single handled. Secondly, the oil products tend to be expensive. The oil products I used was "the original" shave oil and it claimed all you needed was three drops. I used that product for nearly 20 years and I can say it took more like 9-12 drops per shave. That's not a lot, but it comes in a tiny little bottle and runs out quickly at 12 drops per shave. The American Crew product gives me the same silky smooth shave as shave oils but is water soluble so it cleans up real nice and therefore doesn't make a message like oils. In addition, it is a pretty large bottle so I get 4-5 months out of each bottle. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I am not crazy about the scent.

I've tried lots of different shave oils and keep coming back. Not a thick oil and very high lubricity.

I like this product. I use it with my philips shaver to shave after the shower and it helps my skin to be less irritated. There is close to no friction when using this oil, where usually after the shower the shaver wouldn’t work well on dry skin. It’s perfect for my shaving routine and I would definitely recommend it!

I have a heavy beard with soft skin. I always thought I had to have thick lather to shave, but no more. Using shaving oil helps me to better see how well I'm shaving and that means no nicks or cuts. The oil helps the blade glide over the surface of my face and the scent is pleasant without being over powering. I use it exclusively.

Shaving with oil is so much better than using soap foam. This is an excellent shaving oil. Just two or three drops is all you need to lubricate your razor. After your skin will be nourished by the oil rather than died out by soap.

A friend of mine has been using oil to shave for years, cos I suffer from sensitive skin he told me to use his oil and see how I get on with it. Well from the first shave with the hot oil you need a hot blade too, the shave was awesome I'd say the best shave in years my skin is in a much better condition. This oil is the only one I've used and it's fantastic, as you pore it out onto your hands it's hot oil then rub it well into your stubble. Your like me never go back too shaving gel or cream. This stuff Rocks.

Non si sbaglia mai con questa marca. Olio pre barba che a differenza d altre marche pari livello, non impiastriccia e non unge eccessivamente. La lametta scorre liscia senza incappare in nessuna increspatura. L’ho provata su una barba molto lunga e la rasatura è stata perfetta. Fragranza fresca, cn lievi sentori di menta, nn eccessiva.
