Hayward CCX1000V XStream Cartridge Filter Manual Air Relief Valve

Perfect replacement at a fraction of the cost. Its been working flawlessly for three months. If that changes I'll update this posting. BE AWARE that if you are just replacing the leaking air valve you'll see two other o-rings when you take off the Air Relief assembly-one that seals the assembly to the filter tank and one on the barrel of the air tank assembly to seal the collar. So, save yourself some headache and buy the two o-rings (DEX2420Z8A) and replace those as well while its all apart. If you don't, you will most likely get a leak at the top of the tank since those o-rings have probably been in since new and are old, flat, compromised, or even cracked. You can pick up an aftermarket o-ring set (which I used) on Amazon. Search: Tiki Island Pool Express Replacement for DEX2420Z8A Hayward DE and Cartridge Filters Manual Air Relief Valve Oring Kit. It's less than $8 for both o-rings on the assembly. Install those with some silicone sealant like all other o-rings. Or, you can buy an entire replacement assembly that includes the air relief valve for around $65. Buying both the air relief valve and the o-rings I spent $34. Hope this helps.

The local pool shops don't carry this hayward relief valve. The process was great and it was a quick install.

The new valve fit perfectly and works MUCH smoother than before. Probably should have replaced it before it failed (horribly weathered). It does not come with the plastic nut so you'll need to use the one that's inside the filter lid. Bit of a tight fit to get in there with pliers - be careful.

perfect replacement for old valve.

Although it didn’t have the correct size to fit my cartridge filter, I was able to find the right adapter and blows off the air better than what originally came with the cartridge. The design will not allow a leak. That’s a big deal.

This replaced the ten year old valve on top of my filter housing. It has started to leak and felt gritty when operating.This one went on easily, but the filter lid has to come off to access the nut on the inside. This is a good time to clean the filters.It came with a new washer. Really I have nothing negative to say.
