Novenas
I really like the book. I was disappointed that “Mary, Undoer of Knots” was not included.

Overall, very, very pleased!
I just received my copy yesterday, and finished looking through it today. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. I received it in a timely fashion, and in very good condition. The one thing I noticed is that I would like the pages to be a little thicker or more "robust". That being said, I foresee a good deal of usage-another reason I would have concerns about the wear of the pages.I like that a brief background is provided for each novena. He does address that veracity is difficult to prove in some instances. But then, some of these prayers have existed for centuries. Something must be working! I even started one already, last night actually! I look forward to using this as an addition to my prayer practice.Update (March 2016): I've prayed a few of these novenas since purchase. A few were answered in some form or another. Well used.

Tiny, Delicate Book full of Gems
The book contains exactly what the title describes: a dozen or more of the most popular Roman Catholic novenas my father used to complain about being dragged to by my granny on Wednesday nights down at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary or whichever Lady it was. I forget. The point is that novenas (nine-days of prayer/devotions patterned after the Upper Room gathering before Pentecost and other traditions) all but vanished with the coming of those fabulous banjo and tambourine Masses after Vatican II. Apparently, however, novenas are making a comeback, seeing as how the world is teetering on the brink of an abyss of absolute degradation, pervasive moral turpitude, and skin-blistering Hellfire, etc. etc. The admonition to "pray without ceasing" has never seemed so timely, I suppose, and this little book is a fine prayer-accessory. The old-timey novenas have all been spruced-up with reasonable modernizations (don't worry, traditionalists -- no "inclusive language" has been added) and there is a very interesting Foreword about novenas -- well-written, recently written and compelling. I like the novenas to Mary and the Holy Spirit; these are "go-to" novenas beyond a doubt. I don't know why they included the Novena to the Infant of Prague -- sorry, I will NOT pray to a baby-statue in a ridiculous ballgown -- but there's something here for every Catholic who wants to rediscover one of the church's most cherished prayer traditions. Pubbed by the good people of Our Sunday Visitor, I believe.

A book to be treasured....
I was expecting the usual novena book and was wondering why I had ordered it when I already had so many. But as I thumbed through the book I was fascinated with each little story attached to the individual novenas. The foreward and introduction was fascinating as well because I was not all that familiar with the history of novenas. I enjoying reading how they progressed from prayers for the dead to weekly "social nights" in church and finally to private novenas. I think my favorite novena from this book will be the "Quickie Novena" by Mother Theresa. If you don't have 9 days to do a novena, you just do this one 9 times in one sitting. There are also novenas that I had never seen before. Even if you, like me, have a stack of novena books, you will enjoy this one. My only worry is that the pages are super-thin. Keep your coffee cups away!

Book is ok
Book is ok, not sure it’s worth $17. It had a large price sticker that covered most of the back cover. If I didn’t have Goo Gone there’s no way I could have removed it without causing damage. It does have St Peregrine Novena so it’ll serve it’s purpose.

Peaceful prayers
I love this book. I enjoying praying and these Novenas are well written. I chose it because I wanted to pray in a more consistent way. I think anyone who is looking for answers or needs to know God and His saints are available with the whisper will find this book reassuring. It is very light in that I think the paper is tissue so it fits easily into your purse or pocket. I hope is someone is wondering if they should get this book they will give it a try. I can't imagine you being disappointed.

I collect many prayers and I believe in Novena devotions. This book is rightly titled. I received answers to my prayers by using these devotions. I have recommended this to many friends and will buy more for gifts. Thank you so much for making this book- an answer to our needs. God is good that he empowers us all.
