In order to make your own you can order a bag of hardwood, only hardwood, heating pellets used for burning in stoves and mix that at about 85% to 15% wheat bran, or 5050 hardwood pellets and Soy pellets. You then put the pellets into a mushroom grow bag which has a .2 micron filter on it, add water until the substrate expands the pellets to the point where squeezing a handful only releases a few drops of water, and seal the bag with a vacuum sealers seal function (not the vacuum part) and put it into a pressure cooker with about 1/2 inch of water at the bottom. and cook it at 15 psi for a min of 90 minutes at the 15 psi pressure. lets it cool to room temp and you have made a substrate you can fruit. open the bag in a still air box or super clean room that you sprayed lysol in like your life depends on it being totally lysoled to no end and add your spawn to the bag.. reseal it and boom you on the way to mushrooming your mushrooms.. now, if you have none of the tools it will cost about 120 for the cooker, 20-40 for a sealer, 10 bucks for 10 bags, 20 bucks for a clear plastic bin to work in or 200 for a flow hood .. or like i said... about 20-30 bucks for a ready made sealed hardwood sawdust block ... your choice... **Q: Can I Use this product to grow lions mane off of living trees?** A: The grain spawn no but the liquid or plugs since the only living part of a tree is just below the bark the inner rings of a tree isn't alive drill in past the cambium insert the plugs and seal it with soywax the fungus should infest the trunk or limb should have mushrooms in 12-18 months but must use hardwood ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lions mane *by K***. on September 27, 2023* Great shipping time and easy instructions provided!
