Does this safe have a silent mode to turn off beeping?

It has a silent mode to turn off the beeping associated with the opening and closing of the safe. However the safe does have a "you left me unlocked" beep that cannot be disabled.So, yes you can open and close the safe without beeping.

What is the total external height of the safe INCLUDING the scanner apparatus on top? (I need to know if it will fit in my drawer or not).

Hi Stephen, we have it in one of our drawers, the manufacturer says it is 5 inches high. We have it in a dresser drawer and it fits perfectly. We can open and close it easily when the drawer is open about 75% of the way. We are so pleased we made this purchase, just this afternoon, I was at the beach, the grand kids came by and one of the children went into my purse, this is often where I kept my 38, I have crimson trace lazer grips in hot pink, so it could easily be mistaken for a toy...but the gun was in the safe. No worries, easy access if we need it.

How many fingerprints are required to open it. How many different peoples can access it?

I seem to remember the specifications say that the safe is capable of storing 30 different fingerprints. Since it's just my wife and I using it, we each inputted two of our fingers (in case one finger is unreadable - a cut, dirt, or whatever). It opens with just one fingerprint.
