Great saw!
Great saw! We've used it for many projects and it makes quick work of cutting boards.

I love the saw!!!
This thing has been a workhorse! I've used it to cut plywood, hardwood and aluminum. I am impressed with the performance of the blade. On every other saw I have ever bought, the first thing I've had to do is replace the blade it came with. I did have to adjust the the angles to dial it in, but once they were dialed in, I haven't had to touch it. One thing I wish it had is wider extensions on the wings. It has plenty of power. The dust collection isn't perfect, but way better than others I've used and owned. I'm very happy I made this purchase!

Solid Saw
Don't knock ANYTHING untill you have tried it. I don't mind crossing battery platforms from Makita to competitor if adding features are Brushless, AC/DC, Price, etc. I thought I was sold on the Flexvolt 12in because I blindly convinced myself that a miter saw would need to be corded or Flexvolt, but I was wrong. I was able to catch this on sale for $490.00 otherwise I would have gone with Flexvolt for the price and corded/cordless option. The X2 platform continues to impress me even though it's overpriced for the technology and bulkiness. Makita will continue to launch LXT tools with their XGT platform that's on the way.

Lives up to Makita quality
This product works great, first battery powered chop saw. Has more features than my previous saw. Cuts 2x12 without binding, bought tool only because I had 6 batteries already, price was greatly reduced. It's a bit heavier than expected but still easy to place on my stand. Like that I don't have to carry an extension cord around. Set up was easy. Has pointers on cutting crown molding. Highly recommend, then again, I highly recommend any Makita product.

Corded power in a portable saw
So yeah I'm a big Makita fan but I can objectively say that this thing is awesome. I had an old version (think old Ni-MH style battery) that was mediocre. This is on a-whole-nother (that's right, I said "nother") level. If you are hesitant to buy a portable saw, don't worry with this one. Does great with two 5.0 ah batteries. Even my Dewalt fanboy father in law was impressed.

Was 5 star but the vacuum adapter brought it down
The bag is useless and anyone wanting good dust control would use a vacuum. The way the bag is attached leaves a little room for a flexible adapter but since it moves, it falls off over time. The adapter is a $6 part but Amazonโs sells for $30 and every place that has it is $20-30 with shipping. This should have been included in other the miter saw. Keep your useless bag and give us a way to attach the vacuum out of the box. Hood saw otherwise but leaving out this accessory was a poor call by manufacturer. You are looking for โfront cuff 24โ according to the user manual, but it has part number on Makita site as 434379-9 Have fun
