Excellent Oil, great for hair, skin, and cooking, but beware LDL rising...
I went through a Paleo/Primal dieting phase when I used this oil for most of my cooking, and my cholesterol went sky-high. Like crazy high. So, I cut back. Now, I use mostly EVOO for cooking, but I still buy and use this oil.It smells good. It tastes good. It adds a lovely flavor (especially to baked goods and things like pancakes and waffles). You can make homemade chocolate sauces/puddings/candies with this and quality cocoa. It's a stable oil. You can leave this on the counter. I've had a big jar last a couple years unrefrigerated and stay as tasty as day one.Coconut oil is great for hair (leave it on at least 13 hours to get it to protect hair protein optimally). It's great for the skin. It's just a really good all around oil and Barleans has a good one. I also like the Nutiva organic. Both are good. This Subscribe and Save price is a winner! But if you have familial hypercholesterolemia or are a big-fat absorber (I had the DNA test done and I am one of those), you may need to keep an eye on your LDL. This will have a neutral to beneficial effect on HDL, so that's good. But the LDL, youch. Mine went from normal to 190 in a matter of months. When I emphasized EVOO more in my diet, and kept this for occasional usage, my LDL began to go back down. (I'm pattern A.) It also raised hubby's LDL, but not anywhere to the degree it elevated mine.Again, a lot of good uses for this, and if you're a normal healthy person without cholesterol issues, enjoy it. A quality product that should be a home pantry staple just for its versatility and shelf-stableness. I think for folks who want natural, organic products, having this and some Manuka honey and aloe (fresh or otherwise) around the house takes care of a multitude of skin needs.Enjoy.

use it every chance I get
I have been using organic oils on my face and body and hair and everywhere else as a moisturizer and healing agent for about a year in a half and it has made a huge difference in the look and health of my skin in that time. The coconut oil does wonderful things for my hair, I use it every chance I get..in conditioners, shampoos, etc. and it leaves my hair feeling soft ans smelling fresh.I started using almond and jojoba oil after seeing a dermatologist for years, to no avail, for brittle nails and eczema, plus severely dry skin. After one month of massaging the oils into my nails, cuticles and hands; my nails are strong and healthy and the eczema is in check. The jojoba oil is my favorite smelling oil and most affordable out of the bunch (at the time of this writing amazon is doing a buy 2 get 1 free - Jojoba Oil for Hair and Skin - 100 Percent Pure Cold Pressed Oil - No Fillers, Dyes or Artificial Ingredients of Any Kind - Made in the USA (3 bottles - 4 oz each).I feel like a lot of skin-care products advertise a lot of "extra" ingredients so that they can make unrealistic claims, and charge more for what is essentially a water-based "moisturizing" product. I wanted something that was all natural, so I know what's in it, and what the ingredients do/are good for. I did some research on natural oils that are good for the skin, and these three oils were the one's that kept coming up. If you prefer something that is all natural, very affordable, and ultimately effective then I would recommend any and all of these essential oils.

Good for my skin and smells amazing
I just got my order of Barlean's Organics Oils today in the mail. The container was clean and sealed, so you know packaging was authentic and the oil was preserved very well inside. My first instinct was to take a whiff, which smelled delicious and very aromatic, as was expected of coconut oils. It also smelled fresh and clean and I took a spoonful out to apply to my skin. Yes it was oily, but not too oily that makes you want to wipe it off. It felt gentle and smooth and a little bit of it was good to cover a wide spot on my skin. So far, as I can tell, my skin feels very soft especially after this morning's application. Also, I didn't need to put on any perfume or scent as I already smell like fresh coconut oil.According to the instructions on the container, it says it does not require refrigeration, however, in room temperature, the coconut oil is in liquified form. If you like that that's fine, although its possible that the oil might spill if you are not too careful. I like to keep mine in the bottom of the fridge, so that in it's solid form, I can take a spoonful out and apply to my skin.Would I recommend it to anyone? Yes, if you are looking for something to moisturize your skin, I would definitely recommend this product. It's definitely better than traditional body lotion and you know you're doing your body and skin justice by applying the oil onto your skin. It's also certified organic so I am not worried about any confusing man-made ingredients that I might have an allergic reaction to. I'm definitely ordering this again, after I finish my current order.
