Use it for walls but Red Guard for floor next time due to fabric pile on edges of shower floor
I used the TruGard fabric on the walls and floor of my shower build. The walls went fine but the floor had lumps. I tried to keep the mortar wet and used modified mortar on the floors and unmodifiend on the walls to see if there was a difference in adhesion. The unmodified was troublesome to stick to the wall as the ends kept popping out despite having a spray bottle to keep the mortar moist and liquid. It did dry rock hard though. When I do another shower build I will use the Red Guard on the shower pan as keeping that level is absolutely critical for the finish grade on the floor. The two inch overlap at the floor edges to the walls left a lip that showed up on the finished tile. Had I used Red Guard it would have mirrored the beautiful slope I was able to attain with the Quick Pitch guides. The TruGard fabric is thick, when you double up that thickness on the walls its no big deal as I was using large format tiles (12X24") but on the floors i was using a 2 square inch tile that caused the edges to roll up a bit even though I troweled the floor level before applying the tile. I had to build up the thickness of the mortar to cover the thick build up on the sides of the TruGard fabric. The tiles unfortunately settled in the soft mortar and revealed an uneven surface that the fabric causes. It was a shame after all this work that the TruGard fabric on the floors was thing that caused the floor to look lousy on the edges with the edge tiles all shifting up on the outer edges due to the fabric pile under the mortar. I did installed a 30mm thick liner under the mud bed so I now have a double safety margin under the floor as I know all shower floors eventually leak.

1st time user
This was my first time use of this type of product. I used it for a 6' Tub enclosure 3' high and a 4' x 5' Shower all the way from the floor to the ceiling 8' high. I planned to use wrap the shower with 3-rows of pieces cut to 13' long, but the first piece proved to be too challenging to tuck tightly in the corners and get all the wrinkles out. By cutting rows for each wall 4', 5' and 6' long pieces and overlapping in the corners proved much easier. I also found that mixing my thin-set a little wetter than I would to set tile made it easier to get all the bubbles and wrinkles out. I put 18' x 18" Marble tiles up in the shower and around the tub and found that pre-wetting the walls with a sponge helped spread the thin-set more uniform and easily on the Trugard membrane. I would definitely recommend this product.

Great product, great price, awesome service
I was a bit skeptical of Trugard at first, but decided to try it to waterproof our 6'x3' shower. The price is much lower than Schluter Kerdi and Noble Seal Membrane. All are similar. I received the product two days after ordering it. But what was most comforting was that when I had a couple of questions, Matt, one of the founders and owners of Trugard, answered them himself. He even invited me to contact him while I was working on the project over the weekend if I had issues. I'm a big fan of Bernie Marcus' (one of Home Depot's founders), but I doubt he would have done the same. And he knows customer service.I'm an experienced DIYer and found the install, thanks to the videos on the Trugard site and Matt's advice, to be relatively simple. Don't get me wrong, it's hard work - mixing and troweling nearly 200 sf of thinset and mounting just as much sheet goods - but the install went well and relatively painless. And now I'm very comfortable that we'll have a leak-proof shower. Thanks Matt and Trugard Shower.

No different than Kerdi
Hey everyone! I am a Do It Yourself "er" and had been researching waterproof membrane other then using Kerdi. I have used the Kerdi system before, but overtime have been turned off by the price. When I did more research, I came across the Trugard, which is literally half the cost. There service has been amazing and Matt who own's the company has gone out of his way to assist with the many question I had. I highly recommend this affordable company. I got the same product from Trugard as I did Kerdi at half the price!
