It's too wide and big of a point for me to even think of putting into my skin. As a backup I bought the smaller diabetic needle (couldn't buy just one, but for 4 bucks they come in a back with several and a safe plastic grip and another safety of only like a quarter of an inch long needle so you can't do much harm to yourself. I'm hoping that will be a small thin needle and will try that -hasn't arrived yet to know. I would NEVER use this tool on myself because of how big the needle is. I'm sure it's perfect for others who would want that. I would expect scarring but have no idea as I won't use. I'm going to keep it for felting as it looks perfect for that.
