ES-08, Electric Skillet, Black, 8 inch, 800 watts

--------------- Updates: Nov 2017 - Still work great after 6 months. Mom loves them (got her two). Bought me one. So we have 3 now. March 2018 - All working great. Non-stick fully intact on all. We use almost daily. -------------- I needed an electric skillet that is lightweight and easy to manage. This one got the best reviews so it was the one I selected. I have owned many Nesco products over the years and this was a plus. It arrived in perfect condition. I inspected the interior coating closely under light and there were no flaws, bubbles, damage. The entire coating was smooth to the touch. I cleaned it and oiled it prior to using it. The problem with many electric skillets is uneven heating. They get hot zones closer to the heating element plug area. As it heated, I used a scanning thermometer to check temps. As expected, the area near the plug heated first but by the time the pan came to expected temps, the temps were fairly even all over the pan. For a smaller pan, I expected this to happen and was pleased. The egg test: I wiped the interior with vegetable oil them removed the majority with a soft paper towel. On low-med heat, fried eggs cooked exceptionally well. No sticking whatsoever. I was also able to make pan toast easily. This pan is great for an elderly parent. It isn't too heavy nor too big to clean. Most of the time, it can be wiped clean with a soft paper towel. The glass lid is also easy to manage/clean. In fact, using two of these instead on one heavier unit seems to be the best plan. A countertop oven has also been a great help. So far, this pan has worked great.

I've recently become a widow and am having a hard time transitioning to cook for one. I also love a well prepared med rare steak but usually cook them on heavy cast iron skillets. With warm Temps, I didn't want to use my oven or stove to prepare a simple meal every day....so I bought this as an alternative, money saving appliance. Sure am glad I did! It's made well and the temp controls take some getting use to. If your making something without the lid on, there will be some grease spatter to deal with, so place it where it won't damage nearby objects or use a spatter screen. I've made chicken (large enough for 2 large thighs or one breast), pork chops, seafood, beef of various cuts as well as vegetable stir fry. Things cook pretty quickly in this little treasure so make sure you keep an eye on your food! Clean up is quick and easy but must be done by hand. DO NOT toss it in your dishwasher (duh....electric skillet and water???). It's small and compact and takes very little counter space. This product is excellent for widows, single people, college students, RVers and folks who travel a lot on business . Best part....I've already seen a decrease in my electric bill from not using my stove and oven. Great product especially after a short learning curve on how to use it!

Have had this for many years love it so much. Keep it in good shape to cook with. Easy-to-use and store. It is a non stick and medium size square electric skillet. And has great burn resistant to it too. Weight is little heavy on it if you have small wrists. Plate is not removable. 2 medium hamburgers can fit in there flat that you make with a patty cutter.

Nice electric grill to use at home. Has thermostat and is easy to use.

This is perfect. I got it while work had me in a hotel for 7 weeks. It’s great I can cook most anything in it. It does get a little hotter near the plug end than the other side but generally I’m stirring what ever I’m cooking or turning it over and moving it around so I don’t notice it usually.

LOOOOVE this cute little electric skillet! Perfect for one or two person meals! Doesn't take up a ridiculous amount of room in the kitchen and so easy to clean up after use, so I love it! I've been wanting this item for quite a long time now so when it just went on sale to a reasonable price, I snapped one up!

I just received this skillet recently and have only had one chance to use it. It is a sturdy pan, somewhat heavy with a good grip on the counter so it's not sliding all over the place. I really love that it is as deep as it is. My first cooking task was to make my spaghetti sauce and it did very well. It took a few tries to get the temperature where I wanted it to simmer the sauce, but once I had that figured out I was very pleased with the result. I am only rating it 4 stars at this moment, but will come back with a later review once I've had a chance to use it more often. The finish is non stick and very easy to clean, but somewhat heavy for me to pick up (I am an elderly person) but it was manageable. I just popped it into the sink and filled it with hot soapy water, tipped that out and then rinsed it really well. The lid is supposed to be dish washer safe but I prefer to wash by hand. I don't believe the skillet is dish washer safe as the element is somewhat exposed on the bottom. I hope the non stick holds up well because so far I'm loving the skillet. And although I felt the price was a bit expensive, but if the skillet holds up well I think it is worth it. UPDATE: AUG 10 2020: Changed my review to 5 stars. I've had this pan since January 2020 and with recommended care and cleaning, my pan looks as new as the day I bought it and works like a charm. I love it!

As a trucker, I previously tried a 12V skillet from a truck stop, but it was painfully slow to heat up. The NESCO ES-08 110V skillet, however, is a revelation—fast and powerful. I even need to set it to the lowest temperature for eggs to avoid overcooking. It handles my daily meals effortlessly: eggs, sausages, and frozen veggies all cooked simultaneously. Of course, it requires an inverter, and I run the engine for about 5 minutes during cooking. Cleanup is a breeze, and its compact size makes it easy to transport in my cab. I use avocado oil for cooking, and with daily use, it’s transformed my ability to eat healthy between deliveries. A must-have for any trucker on the road! … but it has become too expensive, it is worth a maximum of $59

Es lo mejor, no ha dado fallas en funcionamiento y todo mundo en el trabajo me dicen “que quieren usarla” es mejor que una lonchera termica que se tarda 1 hr en calentar y este calienta como cualquier sartén 😊 solo hay que tener cuidado con el teflon

Great pan for cooking or frying smaller portions, good and find even heating.

Muy eficaz ahorro en gas y el recibo de luz no aumento , calienta rápido y bastante caliente , tiene un termostato y se apaga cuando llega a la temperatura , es pequeño para porciones individuales
