They are adjustable due to the lace. I have a thinner calf and tightened them way down. I'd say they are very adjustable and would accommodate a larger calf, but not a giant calf.

Insulation is great. I try not to go out when it's below -0 degrees. But I love my boots they are awesome. I highly recommend.

I love these boots! Not bulky around the ankles, good support and they're warm. I live in UP Michigan and they do well on snow.

I'm between an 8 and 8.5 and went with an 8.5; I'm glad I did. As for calf width, I too have wide calves, and they fit easily.
