Great Skiing Mittens even in the negatives!
If your wondering to buy or not buy the mittens I will tell you right now they are the best. Even when I went skiing in -10 degree weather my fingers remained pretty warm but got a bit cold towards lunch but that was not the gloves fault that was my own poor circulated hands. No other glove/mitten could even remain this warm that I have tried before. If you really want warm mittens just add in your own silk or wool liner and then you will stay warm no matter what, when I did this my hands started sweating even though it was 5 out and I had to remove the liner to stop sweating. In this glove their is the outer shell which protects from snow, wind, and wetness. Then inside there is a mitten shaped "liner" which is removable and held in place by Velcro which holds it down firmly in place and is easy to put back in. I said "liner" because that liner is all the warmth of the glove and the outer shell is nothing at all except for the leather and waterproof material that keeps your liner dry. Also with this glove there is a very nice leash that you can put around your wrist so if you take your gloves off they are not going anywhere. The gauntlet of the glove is very long which is nice because that fits right over your jacket and then your tighten the string and no element is going in the glove. Because the leather is real you will have to keep it in shape with leather balm, sno-seal, etc. to keep it in good shape and for your gloves to last longer. There is an included Hestra brand leather balm they give to start you off so that is quite nice. Overall this is a great mitten that is super warm and can hold up against extreme conditions.

These gloves are outstanding, but I would recommend getting the mittens in some cases.
These gloves have really been great. I’ve used several pairs of different mits and whatnot through my snowboarding experience, and this are by far the best. I have never used a pair of mits which were more insulating or breathable than these. They hit that perfect point where they maintain good heat but won’t induce sweating, which is very uncommon in gloves and mits. As long as you take care of the leather (leather balm every few trips, just google it), they will not crack what so ever or become wet. They’re incredibly waterproof. They aren’t perfect though, as close as they do come. I believe you should get the mittens, rather than these trigger finger mits. The solo finger can get cold if it’s very frigid out. Also, the leather will slightly darken over time (in my case After a whole season), but I’m sure you could clean them to look like new for the most part. The leather can hold rust if you are holding your board’s edge for some time. Again, these complaints are very minor as compared to how great these are. Like I said, If I were to get another hestra glove I would get the mittens, but these do perform great. Overall worth every penny not having to worry about getting wet gloves from a long day, not to mention the comfort. 10/10 would recommend again.

Comfortable and warm!
Have always been a glove person as they’re easier with the googles and glove straps for me. The tri finger thing works fantastic. Gloves are very warm and comfortable- I like the straps. Gloves are worth the $.

Warm, completely windproof
These keep your hands toasty warm and I can certify that in 50 mph winds you don't feel an iota of cold air coming in. They also breath very well. Excellent gloves

Hestra, where have you been all my life?
The best feature about these gloves (besides the separated finger) is the breathability. They kept my hands dry, warm, and comfortable from about 30f down to about 18f. I have not tried them below that, but I'm sure they will work fine. The key with any glove is to make sure you arms are also warm. If your arms are not warm, the blood going to your hands will not be warm, and your hands will not be able to warm that blood even in the warmest gloves.Anything over about 30f, I have to remove them on the lift and let my hands cool off. I wore them for a full day with night skiing, with snow falling the entire time in the PNW, and my hands stayed dry and warm the entire time. I am in love with these gloves!

Great Gloves, Worth the Money?
First of all, these are by far the warmest, most comfortable, and most attractive gloves I have ever used. That said, I do have some problems with them, as well as some things to be aware of.When I first got these, I was very impressed by the look and feel of the gloves. The inside liners are warm but breathable, so your hands don't get clammy. The synthetic outside feels very high quality, and seem to block out water. The leather is nice, but it seemed that the quality of some of the pieces were less than what you would expect after paying $140 for a pair of gloves. One of my gloves was fine, but the other had two pieces of leather in particular that looked worn and felt thin, which made me a bit worried about Hestra's quality control. One thing to note about the leather is that it needs to be treated with a leather balm, a small packet of which is included with the gloves. If you have a light leather, this balm will leave streaks and darken the leather slightly, though the streaking was much less noticeable after the first application. So I guess what it comes down to is whether or not these gloves are worth forking up $140 for. I have only used these gloves for a short amount of time, so I can't attest to durability, but I can tell you that I don't think I would pay full price for these. Yes they're warm, and yes they look and feel nice. However, you can get nearly as good of a glove for half the price of this, and you may even prefer it since caring for the leather can be a bit of a chore. This ends up being a bit of a mixed review, because I do absolutely love these gloves, and If you're looking for the best of the best, you should consider these. But for an average person, I'm not sure I would recommend these, since they are much more expensive than a standard glove.Note: The images posted this review were taken after one use and after the leather balm was applied once.

Good quality but that is probably why it is so pricey.
My wife and son have had Hestras and swear by them so I got these for my "cold day" gloves which here at Monarch CO are quite a few. Great gloves for cold temps. They are pricey but as a senior these will probably be the last gloves I ever buy. : )
