Vollrath Company Utility Tong, 12-Inch

It doesn't have a latch to hold it shut like most other tongs that I have. But it doesn't open that far anyway.

I have purchased several pairs of these over the years, and these are the best quality I have ever purchased. Nice and thick metal, and the tips actually meet perfectly. I haven't found a locking feature on them, but maybe I just missed it. Either way, we are really pleased with them and are glad we purchased them.

These are what I imagine the folks in the kitchens of the restaurants of the world use while cooking for their many patrons. This is now my second pair, first ordered on Amazon. I found the others in a specialty shop for nearly twice the cost I found them on here. I've had the previous pair for well over two years and I cannot even tell which pair is new and which is older. They are fantastic.

These are great tongs, I’ve got about eight or nine of them now. I also give them as gifts to friends and family.They’re heavy gauge, sturdy, dishwasher safe, and they last. My only complaint Is the most recent ones I received only open to a width of about 4 1/2 inches. My older versions open up to a width of about 6 inches. I know it doesn’t sound like much but it does make a difference, especially when grilling bigger steaks and chips.Vollrath is a great manufacture of commercial kitchen products, I trust their brand and continue to buy them at home.

some of my crew ask me to get a better quality tongs and really heavy... but this one is really good not heavy to charger or work whit it but really good for any kind of job ... if do you work really heavy at restorant or just need to handle your bb q at home do you need this tongs

My brother wanted these for Christmas, and he loves to cook. He uses these at work and LOVES using this at home

These tongs are definitely not the cheap light weight kind. They are nice and thick with a great feel. I've used this brand for lots of years. They used to be made in Japan but now in India but they are still of a great quality.

While these are sturdier than average tongs, they have no locking mechanism. Excited to find tongs that were made in USA (according to description), but the stamp says “India”
