This battery-powered pencil sharpener is excellent
It works extremely at producing a sharp point. It’s important not to press to hard, or else the sharpening process will stop.

Cool Sharpener
I love this sharpener! I color with pencils. This sharpener slows down when a good lead length is reached. No shredding or breakage of the lead is caused by the sharpener.

Fiskars #1 in my book
This is a nice compact pencil sharpener. I already have one that I use upstairs, but wanted another to replace an off brand that I have at my desk downstairs. The blades continue to remain sharp and the pencils come out evenly sharpened (not on one side like the off brand) Fiskars is the best in my opinion.

The best little sharpener for home or on the go
This is my 2nd Fiskars sharpener I own. I am an artist that often needs to sharpen a pencil/colored pencil/pastel pencils. This Fiskar is fabulous! It’s easy to carry around and often my art friends try mine out and are pleasantly surprised how quick and easy it sharpens. Blows the hand held sharpeners away! I highly recommend this sharpener.

This Fiskars Battery Powered Pencil Sharpener works - just don't push the pencil in too hard.
The very features I like about this automatic pencil sharpener are the very ones that I feel can be drawbacks. Still, this is a decent automatic pencil sharpener, and it does the job.I use this for my kids and their schoolwork, and also for sharpening colored pencils when they do art, etc. There's an auto shut-off when the pencil gets nice and sharp, which is nice. That said, if you push in the pencil too hard during sharpening, it'll cut off before you get a chance to sharpen it appropriately, too. And when I say too hard, I don't mean jamming it in there forcefully. More like applying slightly more pressure than normal, which is a little bit subjective. This was a little hard explaining to my special needs child, who doesn't understand why the pencil sharpener "won't work" when he pushes it in there. It's way more testy than others we've used in the past. So, basically, it works...but it's also finicky, and wants you to push it in there just enough for it to start, but not firmly enough that it feels like it should stop. That's a pretty fine line, too. There's a lot of sharpening, then it stops, so we pull it out only to find it wasn't sharpened all the way through and try again, etc. It's annoying, but not really a deal breaker. There again, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of it stopping to let you know it's fully sharpened. This takes a surprising FOUR AA batteries (which are not included), which is also another annoyance. I'm used to 2 AA's, or maybe 3 AAA's for something like this...but four AA's for this thing? Thankfully, I'm currently using rechargeable batteries for it, because as often as we use it (daily and often more than once each day), I'm thinking they won't last long at all. Changing 2 each time is one thing, but changing 4 can really add up in cost over time.Considering that this takes four whole AA batteries to operate, you'd think it would have a motor that was really powerful and fast. Buuuut...no, it actually doesn't. While it's not the slowest out there, it's certainly not the fastest...especially when it keeps stopping if you accidentally push the pencil in a little too firmly.Overall, this works, and it's decent enough and appears to be good quality. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, but since I can't...I'm rounding it up to 4. It's still a sturdy product that works, and it does sharpen nicely when you figure out its sweet spot. We'll be getting a lot of use out of it, and aside from having to replace the batteries every so often (or recharge them in my case), I don't foresee this falling apart anytime soon or having too many issues down the road.

Can sharpen even colored pencils well
I used to have one of these until I left it somewhere. Even with the new one, I was able to sharpen many pencils and colored pencils with ease. It stops when the pencil is done. The batteries and pencil sharpener are still going after 1 1/2!

Lacks motor power and stops with slightest pressure
I returned this item because the slightest pressure stops the motor, making it extremely difficult to sharpen a pencil. Although the pencil does get sharpened, if you do find the right amount of pressure, the motor can labor. Sharpening a pencil should not be this frustrating.
