Mucros Weavers Irish Trinity Flat Cap for Men, Newsboy Hat (Large, Color 434-1)

This is a gorgeous, well-made cap. But it doesn’t fit me because I bought according to Amazon’s size chart, which is a little off for Mucros Weavers caps – and probably for other Irish-made wool flatcaps.My head measures 22.75” around. That’s a large, per Amazon. But per The Irish Store, I should have bought a medium.Here’s the Irish Store’s size guide for men’s caps:S 22.5" ; M 22.8" ; L 23.6" ; XL 24.4" ; XXL 24.8"Update: The seller gets five stars for being so prompt about an exchange.

My husband has longed for this style hat to keep his bare head warm during the colder months of the year. Being an outdoorsman who loves his Filson wool jacket, this hat is a nice finishing touch to his look! We measured the circumference of his head at 22 5/8" and ordered size Med according to the manufacturer chart. The fit is just right, not to tight not to loose. Note: there is not any elastic in the band, the only stretch or give will occur naturally from the wool but it's not enough to say it's stretchy.Hubby is very pleased with the craftsmanship, look and style of this hat at a fair price. He highly recommends this and would happily purchase again. Item shipped promptly and arrived on time.

So having worn a flat cap years ago and loving it, I knew what to expect with this purchase — an iconic, classic look. Only concern for me was getting the correct size. I went with a medium and it was a perfect fit — not too tight nor too loose. Very comfortable. It actually feels and wears like a quality, high-end cap, and unlike the ubiquitous baseball cap that everyone seems to prefer, I find the flat cap more versatile in that it doesn’t matter if you’re wearing jeans and a t-shirt or slacks and a button-down, you’ll look good either way with a flat cap, and more specifically, a Mucros Weavers flat cap. Only issue with my purchase was that I was sent the herringbone green (27) when I ordered the charcoal. The seller was prompt with his reply to my email and offered a $10 discount or a return. I chose the discount and kept the hat I was sent as it looks better in person than in the product photos. Darker too, which is a plus in my book. It’s like a forest green with subtle reddish lines in the weave. It’s a nice flat cap and if you’re into this style, you’ll probably dig one of these.

The quality of this hat is top notch! I have a 7 5/8 head and the XL fits like a glove (Not too tight, Not too loose—- I mean perfect!) I was a little worried from some reviews that said this hat is too thin..... although they are correct, I believe that is why I can wear this hat and literally forget I have it on its so comfortable. AND I wore it while our evening temps were in the Teens and it helped keep my head warm! (Ears are on their own but that’s not what this hat is for.) I will be ordering more colors of this Mucros brand hat! Very impressed!!

I decided to look for a quality warm flat cap I found the ones made in Ireland seems to have the most positive reviews. It was hard to decide but finally decided on Mucros.The cap was made with quality material and well sewn. I bought the charcoal color but it’s more like black color. My head circumference is 21-1/2”. The smallest size S fits 22-1/2”. When I questioned the fit for my head size, one response indicated that someone has the same circumference and size small fits him. So I took a chance and ordered the cap. The cap fits a little on the loose side. Maybe if I let my hair grow a little longer then it might fit perfect. I will keep the cap. Again it is a well make cap.In the future if Mucros makes one with 21-1/2", I will buy another.

This is my 2nd Mucros hat. I had the first one for years and accidentally left it at a restaurant. I loved it so much I had to purchase the same type from the same shop. Extremely well made products. I love the style. I purchased a large and it is a perfect fit, very comfortable.

The product is fine. Be sure that you measure the head of the person that will be wearing it to ensure it fits. I was disappointed in the packaging. The hat was stuffed in a generic clear plastic bag with NO tags. I'm pretty sure it was returned or used. I ordered a hat from the same company in a different color and size and it had a tag on it. Now I see that this purchase was clearly used which grosses me out. For an almost $50 product, they also could package it better. So while the product itself might work as a gift, plan to repackage it. It wouldn't make a nice gift shipped directly, especially if it is without a product tag and stuffed in a clear shipping bag like this one was.

What can you say? It is a well-made wool cap that fits well. Yes, most hats blow off here in NW Wyoming and I use this while ushering/greeting at Sunday morning mass. So far, it has not blown off and is very dressy as well as very casual.This should be fashionable for younglings as well as us old (65+) bald dudes who need to keep their noggin warm while standing outside church greeting folks.I really like this hat!

Outstanding craftsmanship. Very nice material. Took abit to get, but well worth the wait. The minute I placed it on my head, a wee voice whisper that a pint of gat at the sheebeen sleveen might be grand. Recommend and will purchase again.

I've made a few mistakes ordering clothing online, but this was not one of them. This cap fits perfectly, appears extremely well-made and looks fantastic (even better than it does in the photos) ... I'll be back for more.
