An Introduction to Theories of Personality, 8th Edition

I mean it's a textbook but as far as textbooks go, this one is fun to read and easy to read. Super straight forward and easy to understand. I like it a lot.

Informative and well written. Wish I could have bought it instead of renting it. Needed it for college but would have made for a good read (if you like learning about psychology and the study of personality)

The biographical sketches that open each chapter really help to frame the theories. It's really enlightening. I've got maybe 15 books on personality sitting around the house but this one stands out as one of my favorite.

The most positive thing I can say is that getting this book here saved me many dollars verses buying it at the University's bookstore.Hey, it's a textbook, it's overpriced as all textbooks are. For the amount of money you spend on this book you think they could have at least used some color. Nope, it's all black and white.It covers the material needed for the class. If you need it for the class, you need it for the class.It will be a good day when the physical textbook becomes a think of the past and instead of carrying around a huge backpack full of overpriced books, students will carry around one iPad, or Kindle, or whatever ereader they like and have all of the inexpensive, downloaded textbooks stored in it.

I needed this book for a class in college. This book provided great theories and research to substantiate each personality represented. I passed the class because of the lay out of this book.

Very easy to read and follow. Information in the book was very retainable. I wish the book was a little more specific but for the class I took it was more than good enough. I also wish that there were more examples for certain theories and concepts.

This book is very thorough and describes each theorist without bouncing around to the point of confusion. I was able to really learn about each one and how they influenced each other. I will be keeping this book for future reference.

I haven't gotten to use the book yet--my class doesn't start until January. However, the book is what I expected for the price I paid. I am satisfied with the purchase.
