Gorillaz -- Demon Days: Piano/Vocal/Chords (Faber Edition)

Absolutely amazing for your music enthusiast who loves Gorillaz.

Very beautiful paperback binding with satisfactory transcriptions and large music print on each page. The first few pages are color prints of the various songs’ cover art in the original album inserts as well as a few extra band pictures. I must say, these extra artworks are absolutely stunning. They’re large and colorful and I’m almost tempted to cut a few of them out and frame them. The music is transcribed well and the lyrics are mostly correct. There are a few parts in the album’s music where the sections get a bit more complex but the transcriptions stick to a more simplified melodic line or chord, but to be fair typically every piano/vocal/guitar book I’ve come across tends to simplify some sections down a bit and opt for simpler chords in place of a bit more complex chord or melodic phrase. What is provided in this book I believe is enough to get the essence of the song and with the chords provided it will be easy for someone to do some simple re-voicing to play more what like what is on the album in sections where the book opted to simplify. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase!

She was super excited for the chance to learn the piano parts from her favorite band. Book seems well done, no complaints about it yet.

What is brilliant and special about this book is that the music for the instrumental, non-vocal parts of ALL the songs in the book is actually written to sound like the instrumental parts of the songs. Because so often in Piano-Vocal-Guitar books, the part of the sheet music that's meant to be the instrumental notes of the songs is just written so that it imitates or emulates the vocal notes and so the genuine instrumental notes of the song are missed. Often in piano-vocal-guitar books, the instrumental line is written to just imitate the vocal tune in all but a few or a handful of the songs, but in this book, the instrumental parts are written to sound like the instrumental parts in all of the songs. Boy am I glad I bought this book. Didn't know it would have this special quality.
