The main ingredient is a synthetic mineral oil (instead of petrolatum) and the balm also contains hyaluronic acid that draws water in the skin for increased moisture and ceramides that help form a protective layer to reduce moisture loss and also increase hydration. This balm looks glossy and makes my dry lips look and feel more hydrated. It feels soothing and adds a protective barrier to help prevent chapped lips.I always need a lip balm at night before bed or my lips feel uncomfortably dry. This balm has a pleasant feel, and my lips feel comfortable and hydrated all night. I’ve checked the ingredients in the EWG database and/or Paula’s Choice and most get low risk or good ratings, except for a few extracts such as geranium oil, rose flower oil and bergamot oil. This is a good quality lip balm that soothes and hydrates my lips. I like this balm a lot and haven’t noticed any irritation or negative effects. 5 stars.
