Had to buy this for a class. Very impressed. Easy to read and not too wordy--many topics discussed that explain the role of a reading/literacy teacher.

Very pleased with the practical ideas and current information presented. A definite resource for new and veteran coaches and reading specialists.

If you think that it is SUPER important to base instructional decisions on a narrow definition of data, then this is the book for you. The underlying assumptions are so biased and not realistic that I find it very unhelpful There are no tips here, just a lot of justification for continuing the status quo.

Fantastic resource for beginners or experienced coaches. There are many tips and tricks included to start a literacy program as well as extra reading included should one want more detailed information. This book is also organized well and is an engaging read.
