Love these Olukai sandals!
I have worn Olukai flipflps (slippahs if you're from Hawaii) for the 8 years I lived in Hawaii beginning in 1998. I still have my original black leather slippahs and they are in excellent condition, along with a number of other pairs. Unfortunately, they don't go on cruises because the soles aren't slip-proof. These sandals, on the other hand, have the wonderful beachy sandal soles that resist water and are slip-proof. They are also very comfortable as well as so darn cute. I leave on a cruise next week and now that I have these Olukai Olena sandals, I have removed two other pairs of flipflops and another pair of sandals from my suitcase. These are the only sandals I am taking for walking, time at the beach, and time by the pool. I bought the Kona Coffee color - very stylish looking and can also be worn in the dining room for dinner.

Great looking sandals wonderful for their firm arch support!
Love these sandals! They are super comfortable for my highish arches which require firm support. Leather bands are soft on my delicate skin. Also, love the color!

Arch support in a Cute Sandal
Fit: I normally wear size 7 in sandals, and the 7 fit perfectly. My feet are average to slightly skinny: 3.5" wide (measured by tracing foot on paper and measuring between 2 widest spots), 2" wide at the heel. REI near me was carrying this style, so worth checking if you want to try on in person. I really love this sandal for these reasons: - This has excellent arch support and heel cup for a sandal of this style. The bottom is also more non-skid than most sandals, which are often terrible. -I absolutely love this criss-cross strappy look and fit for sandals. I had a favorite cheap Payless pair that I wore for years, and then searched for years for a replacement, which has been impossible to find till now. It goes with anything, particularly any summer dresses that have black, when you want to wear something that passes with a dress, but be comfortable walking in. My cheap Payless pair had slightly thinner straps, with contrasting white stitching against the black, so they were slightly cuter, but these are still cute, comfy, and versatile. - The cross strap design on the big toe doesn't hurt the toe, like sandals with toe posts can. I can't wear any sandals with a toe-post, but I can wear these. -This pair was feeling slightly tight on my big toe, after wearing a bit when my feet swelled, but a few seconds stretching the leather with my fingers fixed that. Being good quality leather, they conform to your feet nicely. Cons (kind of): - The footbed of the shoe is a solid plastic/ slightly rubbery material, which doesn't breath well, but the upside of that is it is very durable and can be cleaned easily. But since the upper is leather, that limits the versatility of a plastic footbed, where you can get it wet without worry. I don't live where it is very hot, so it is bearable. It has a nice finish, so it feels better against the skin than a lot of plastic/rubbery sandals. (Update: I have since found that sometimes you are in an unexpected situation where your sandals get wet, as in an impromptu visit to the beach with friends. These sandals survived walking in ocean water, though I don't recommend doing it on a regular basis. I do love that the rubbery footbed cleans so easily and does well if it gets unexpectedly wet.) -The arch support and heel cup is nice, but on a thin sole. I think the Vionic Tide flip-flops are a notch higher when it comes to sandal support, that you can wear all day and your feet will feel great. These are dressier, of course. - The price tag at $90 is double what it should be, for what it is, but it's a style I've been searching years for (with arch support thrown in, to boot.)

Love These Sandals
These sandals are so good—perfect right out of the box. I’ve had 2 other pairs of OluKai sandals, so I expected these to be quick favorites and they are. They are exceptionally comfortable, with great arch support, and my feet feel good and do not hurt after walking in them. The leather is comfortable as well and does not rub my feet. I prefer the type of soles these have because they are soft on my feet (for reference, I have Birkenstocks that are soft and comfortable, but I can’t wear them for serious walking because the suede footbed tears my feet up). I wanted a pair of neutral sandals that will work with various pants, shorts, or dresses and these work. They are casual, easy to slip on and off, and easy to walk in. They’ll be going with me on a trip later this summer, but I’ll also wear them frequently over the summer at home too. I’m almost always a solid size 8 and am in these as well. These are really good shoes, and I highly recommend them.

Love these
My new favorite sandals. I have narrow feet so it can be hard to find sandals that fit. These fit great. They are very comfortable and lightweight. I can wear them walking all day and my feet not hurt. The longer strap across the top does hit in a little bit of a weird spot but I get used to it after a few minutes and don’t notice anymore. They’re light weight feel well made and have plenty of support. I love that they can get wet and will still grip. I’ll have to keep an eye out for when they go back on sale so I can order another color.

Beware Low Quality Buckles!
I am so disappointed! I have a pair of these that I bought used off a different website and I loved them so much I wanted a 2nd pair. I have had to return these twice because the metal buckle has broken within 5 days of wearing the shoes, in the SAME way!! These are not made well anymore.

Overrated and Overpriced
I don’t understand the glowing reviews for these sandals. They are comfortable-ish but not the most comfortable sandals I own. There isn't much to them--they are basically nothing more than a low profile flexible rubber flip flop base with leather straps. The insole is somewhat contoured but I have extremely fine-boned, very narrow feet with long arches and find them to be too flat to be truly supportive. People with thick, flat feet might find them more supportive but mine are too narrow to benefit from much of the contouring, which is mostly towards the edges of the footbed. I'd expected the insole to be leather-lined and maybe even cushioned, but it's entirely rubber like the sole, just texturized. Since they are all rubber, sometimes they get clammy when my feet sweat. The straps are soft and flexible as others have mentioned (though much too loose on my thin feet) but they're just bonded to the backing, not stitched together. In terms of sizing, I am a true 8N who sometimes has to size down to a 7.5 due to volume/width issues and found the size 8 length to be about right. Due to the position of the toe loop, which is closer to the front of the sandal, my long toes end up at the very front leaving extra space behind my heel. As mentioned, they are comfortable-ish, but considering all the stellar reviews and the steep price I just expected...a LOT more. If you're going to spend $90 on a pair of outdoorsy-type comfort sandals, I recommend Chaco leather sandals, which are higher quality and more supportive. I like the look of these sandals but fit and comfort make them overall meh.

Beats Chakos or Tevas in comfort and style.
True to size (I wear 9 to 9.5 and the 9 was perfect). I bought both bronze and pewter and decided to keep the bronze because the dark brown footbed looked a little dressier and more versatile than the black footbed. The bronze looks fantastic, like a blend of boho and classy, with a romper, casual sundress, and even a cotton maxi dress, but not with a nicer-looking dress (although there are some people that do that, I don't think they mix). Very cute; twelve times cuter than those clunky Chakos with the thick soles and giant plastic buckle straps or athletic-looking Tevas (only advantage to those would be if you are wearing them at the lake or somewhere you're going to get them wet and dirty all the time). These are every bit as comfortable as Tevas or Chakos but don't make me look like Bigfoot. Very comfortable footbed; I have average arches and Olukai women's sandals support my feet without digging into the arch. Kept this pair over the Olukai 'Awe'Awe style because on those (which are more strappy) the very front horizontal strap cut into my foot. These Upenas are perfect even after days of wearing them 14 hours at a time, walking up and down hills. I wore them first on a cool day and they were perfect all day, and then (midwest weather) the next day was 20 degrees warmer, so my foot was sweaty and just generally bigger than the day before, and I could tell the straps were a bit tighter, but I'm confident the leather straps will stretch/mold a bit to the contours of my feet.

Comfortable but fit small
Well-designed, ergonomic sole that conforms to the arch and cups the heel. Can be easily wiped clean of dirt and dust. Straps are genuine leather and stretch slightly with continued wear. Great for day walks, casual evenings out and they pack well for traveling. Recommend sizing up a half size as they fit small. I am a size 7.5 and wear an 8. Not recommended for anyone with wide feet.
