Great product! Fresh, flavorful, great for cooking or Ayurvedic preparations
I love this product! A friend recommended that I take some in honey and warm water to help with my chronic bronchitis, and I must say that I am am surprised at how much this has helped! I toast the pepper pieces in a dry pan, then add powdered ginger and turmeric in. Then I put it all in a coffee grinder and pulse into a powder. I then add about 1/4 tsp to warm water and honey every morning. This product is fresh, fragrant, and it will last a long time. Highly recommend!

Interesting
I purchased these to try them. I had watched a video that used Long Pepper in a recipe. He explained the culinary uses and cultural background. I was intrigued, and bought this. It's flavour certainly pops well, very similar to standard pepper. But the heat quickly dissipates, and has a different, but interesting flavour. I have used it several times, yet rarely use "regular" pepper... That, in itself surprised me..... All in all, I'm very pleased with purchase, and will purchase again!

Fantastic for chai
Amazing flavor! Quality spice, I mortar crush this and add it to my chai, delicious replacement for black peppercorns. Much more complex flavor.

An interesting pepper alternative
Having read an article about 'long pepper' I knew I had to try it. This is good. My partner agrees that it makes for a nice change from regular black pepper. I have always been a fan of fresh ground black pepper. I don't know what I was expecting. A revelation maybe... This is nice, though not the revelation I was expecting. Also, I am grinding it in a mortar and pestle to pulverize it. We agree that it does make a nice change from the usual, though I am not certain that I could tell in a double blind taste-test which recipe had which pepper.

Pepper with a little something extra
I guess this was the original pepper imported into England prior to the pepper we use now. Everyone knows regular pepper's flavor but this adds richer extra flavors of cedar or citrus flavors. I prefer this now on my food over the regular and keep a shaker full of fresh ground. If you decide to purchase this BUY a robust grinder or an electric spice grinder. When I first got it I put it into a store bought empty plastic grinder and it split in two in my hand. Definitely worth purchasing and using in my food- eggs are great with this on it.

Has a slight taste of soap
I watched a YouTube content creator use Long Grain Pepper. I was curious about how it tasted. I would not class this as a "Pepper" it's has no "Bite" that black or multi color pepper corns have. My opinion is that it has a slight soap taste. I cut the long grains into two to three pieces each so they could be used in a pepper grinder. The taste is so mild that putting it on sliced home grown tomatoes, the taste is pretty much lost. Conclusion: Not a waste of money but I likely would not replace them if or when they are all used up.

A good pepper replacement with a piney flavor
This is mostly like your standard black pepper, but there is a significant pine tree flavor. It's somewhat comparable to adding a juniper berries and rosemary to a pepper blend. It has a unique flavor compared to peppercorns, but is a suitable replacement. The bag reseals well and is heavy duty so it works for long term storage. These would probably fit in most pepper grinders, but I am worried they will get stuck in mine so I only use them in my mortar and pestle. They are about 1/4 inch thick and 1 1/4 inches long.
