How Can It Be All Right When Everything Is All Wrong?

I read over 40 years ago and wanted to share the wisdom with a friend. Forgiveness for self and others is key to mental and physical health.

This is an excellent book for those who have gone through and are still going through struggles. It helps you to see that God is not to blame when everything seems wrong and we need Him to help us see that It Can Be All Right.

Of all the Lewis Smedes books, I believe that this one is the best. He writes so concretely - the words touch your heart in a very deep way. If you have ever doubted your faith, have been discouraged in your life or have felt that you are all alone, you will find so mich comfort and solace in this book. I could not put it down, but at the same time I never wanted it to end!

Provides good clear perspective on the human condition this side of eternity, broken but redemmed by His love. Provides good scriptural support that God is not the author of our pain and all that is wrong in the present, but that He is sovereign over all redeeming both this life's joy & pain for our ultimate good because of His great & unfaltering love for us.

This book is one I really needed to read. It was very helpful to me as I think of the years gone by and how many times I asked myself that very questions. It gave me a new perspective and I wish I had read it many years ago. Books by Lewis Smedes have always been very helpful for me and this one was no exception. Elaine Fay

Lew Smedes was a friend of mine and I have read several of his books. I love his style.

This book has meant a lot to me over the years, and bears re-reading every so often. Smedes is honest with his doubts and struggles, but manages to celebrate God's grace in many different ways. Highly recommended.
