Transformers: Dark Prelude

I real-time all of the IDW "Spotlight" issues, and this one is good too. My favorite story in this is "Spotlight: Megatron". That one is so bone-joltingly awesome, it blew my mind! It is extremely well-written. The author put a lot of thought and detail into it, and it shows. The dialogue is so great, several times I caught myself reading it aloud, which is something I never do. It really captures the true character of Megatron, along with his relationships to Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave. It reminds you of just how bad a dude Megatron really is, why no one will ever top him, and why he deserves to be the leader he is. The other stories are all good but none come close to the Megatron story. It's a great read - highly recommended!

AMAZING ARTWORK!!! Awesome for any Transformers fab

This is kind of a fun story. It ties together several time periods looking for Metroplex, and further fleshes out some of the background mythos associated with the IDW Transformer universe.

While many other titles flounder in an attempt to liven up the property with fresh versions of existing characters, these manage to do so while introducing new ones in the process. Excellent homage to the past while crating a fresh, new future!

Pretty good

In reading the reviews, I thought to myself, "Wow, more IDW Transformers goodness in-line with both the; "More than Meets the Eye," and, "Robots in Disguise" timelines. Maybe a follow up to the Decepticon Justice Division? Divvying of gestault tech to the sub-faction groups? Why the matrix is so unexplainably, . . . un-explainable? Hopefully something new. However, since most Transformers IDW readers are also Transformers collectors, ALL of this content has been purchased and read, as a free bonus of buying their respective ACTUAL transformers toys! The IDW that come for FREE when you buy the Hasbro Generations line: Black stealth bomber Megatraon, Sports Car Bumblebee, Trail-cutter/Trailbreaker, Autobot Hoist, Fall of Cybertron Thundercracker, and Orion Pax not only have each of this trade paperback's issues, but come in a convenient single issue form to better fit into the scattered timeline bookshelf that the current IDW trade paperback lineup. $19.99 for a book I already had (and the toys to go with them). FAIR WARNING: If you own those toys, you ALREADY HAVE THESE STORIES. --No bonus content, no 'missing hidden chapters' nothing new at all. Amazon, IDW, Seibertron.com or whoever is selling this issue should have done a better job telling us that this TP is re-hash material one could use the money for finding harder to find TF stuff.

This book contains some of the best and worst examples of Transformers Spotlights, one-shot issues concentrating on specific characters.Trailcutter and Megatron's chapters are stand-out balls-to-the-wall awesome, mixing humour and action in such a way as to make you actually want to pop out to buy the toys and read more of the comics.Orion Pax follows a pre-Matrix of Leadership Optimus Prime as he goes on a bit of an adventure, it's fairly decent stuff, nothing special. Likewise with Bumblebee and Thundercracker, nothing special.Hoist's spotlight is just bloody awful, has nothing to do with the 'Dark Cybertron' series it is suppose to be a prelude to, makes no sense with regards to continuity, and well... it's just ugly stuff.Still, worth getting for Trailcutter and Megatron, awesome stuff.

Kurz und knackig: Ich bin von der Sammlung, die ihr in diesem Band bekommt, begeistert!Die Zeichnungen wurden mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail angefertig und die Dialoge sind toll und voller Witz.Mir hat vor allem das Spotlight von Trailcutter gefallen :D.Ich kann euch diesen Band sehr ans Herz legen, allerdings solltest ihr gute Englischkenntnisse mitbringen ;).

ORION PAX、THUNDERCRACKER、MEGATRON、BUMBLEBEE、TRAILCUTTER、HOISTの6つのエピソードが収録されています。それぞれについて簡潔にレビューという名の感想です。（私の英語力の関係上、解釈ミス等あったらすみません）<ORION PAX>時は400万年前。ホイルジャックの手によりニューボディとなったオライオン・パックスだったが、彼の顔からはあのトレードマークともいえるフェイスプレート（マスク）が消えていた…オライオン本人が「MY LUCKY FACEPLATE」と言っているだけあって、それが無くなってしまった彼はまさに大殺界か天中殺かというアンラッキ－に次々と襲われます。昔のアニメで司令官がしゃべるときにマスクがもごもご動きますが、あの動きをご本人が気に入っていたというのがちょっと意外でした。<THUNDERCRACKER>メトロフレックスを捜索しつつオートボット狩りをするブラジオンらディセプティコン。そこに加わっているサンダークラッカーだったが、シーカーとして高いプライドを持つ彼はそんな現状に不満を募らせていた…いつも思うんですがＩＤＷのサンクラって真面目なのになんか報われないですね。まあコーンヘッズ３人衆に比べればまだマシな扱いかもしれませんが。<MEGATRON>重傷を負って戦列を離れていたメガトロンが黒いニューボディで復帰。さっそくスタースクリームにニューメガ様の超絶ダイナミックお尻ペンペンが炸裂します。個人的にはスタスクの見事な女座りに吹きました。<BUMBLEBEE>オプティマス・プライムがマトリクスを奪われ、新しくリーダーとなったバンブルビー。足が不自由になり杖をつき、仲間たちとの軋轢（特にプロール）や地球人との交渉に苦心しながら孤独感を募らせていく…そんな彼が絶体絶命の危機に！オプティマスやロディマスも言ってましたが、リーダーって本当に大変な仕事です。しかしホイルジャック先生の作るものはどんなに小さくてもやっぱり危険なんですね。<TRAILCUTTER>アニメではトレイルブレイカーという名前で、フォースバリアという超チートな特技を持つ彼。しかしそのオッサンくさい見た目からか（実際オッサンですが）、常に他者のサポート的な役割なためか、いまいち周囲の評価が低い。そんな彼ががんばるお話です。しかし名誉の証とはいえロディマスの顔バッジってそんなに欲しいものなのでしょうか？さらにその顔にヒゲを落書きしてるホワール、お前は小学生か。<HOIST>謎の惑星にシャトルで不時着したホイスト、パーセプター、スワーブ、サンストリーカーとボブ。救援を待つ彼らの前に、そこに居るはずのない凶悪な敵が次々と襲いくる。なんとこの惑星は知的生命体の「恐怖」を実体化してしまうのだ。このままでは自分たちの生み出した幻覚に殺されてしまう…大ピンチの中、ホイストが考えた策とは？緊迫した話ですが、自称「みんなのアイドル」スワーブが虚勢を張る姿が笑えます。てかたったの５分間黙っていることもできないのかこのアイドル君は。
