Launch excitement! What can be more motivating and exciting than learning about a REAL rocket, then building and launching your own Estes version of it! That’s what your students will do with this 1:32 semi-scale model of the UP Aerospace SpaceLoft rocket. UP Aerospace is the world’s only operational, private space launch company. The company’s SpaceLoft rocket provides low-cost space access that is available to businesses and the educational sector. This sub-orbital rocket connects learning to the real world! The one piece fin unit and pre-colored body tube make this rocket easy to build. It is a mini engine rocket that launches with a standard Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad and Electron Beam Controller – sold separately. NOTE: THE UP AEROSPACE SPACELOFT IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN A BULK PACK. WHAT YOU NEED TO BUILD: Scissors, pencil, ruler, fine sandpaper, hobby knife, masking tape, plastic cement (Tools, construction and finishing supplies not included). WHAT YOU NEED TO LAUNCH (sold separately): Estes model rocket engines, starters and recovery wadding. Four 1.5V high quality AA alkaline batteries are also required for launch controller (not included).

Great value - big blast
Our local university's Rocket Club ran out of rockets and funding, so I purchased this bulk pack for them to do with local children. We had lots of great blast-offs with tons of awed spectators!I might have even felt a sonic boom. Just kidding, but the rockets went really high.

Good for Middle School age
Just fine for middle school age first time rocket builders. Used in a school setting. Always verify engine size - these take the smaller.

Up, up, and away... recover... do it again
I have an annual rocket launch (we call it "Blast Off to Summer") with my Cub Scout's Den and try to get a different rocket every year. Last year I made the mistake of getting the ones with the paper fins you glue on. We had many, many wayward rockets. These with the plastic fins are much better for beginner and young rocket builders!

Good beginner rocket kit
We purchased these for our Cub Scout Pack. Good rocket kit. The youth do need parent help to assemble. They launch very high.

good, basic, inexpensive kits
Great little rockets. Easy to assemble, but they apparently haven't updated their instructions since their last design change listing the dimension to the hole where you attach the shock chord in the wrong spot, but it's obvious what they meant. We had young kids assemble and decorate these at a birthday party, and launch them afterwards. Each launched without incident.
