does a good job
with enough reduction, i built a sheet rock hanger and lifted 4x12 1/2 sheetrock to intall on ceiling with one, bought another to raise and lower a 110gal water pressure tank(empty). be smart, be safe, dont be under the load. more reduction also slows it down so less bounce starting and stopping. buy a bunch they are pretty cool

EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED
Great size, more than adequate power, simple install. I am using this to lift things into my attic garage. For the mounting bar I bought some very inexpensive Stanley sawhorses. I bought a pair, but only needed one as the square connecting bar between the legs fit this winch very well. The total install time was 10 minutes. And, I can move it around as needed. This was a great solution. I am very pleased.

Does Job But Has Short Duty Cycle
The media could not be loaded. Here is an issue that is not discussed in this Web page's advertisement: THE LIFT'S 25% DUTY CYCLEFor repeated or continuous use, such as hauling multiple items, the lift's manual and nameplate recommends allowing this lift to REST for 7 1/2 minutes for each 2 1/2 minutes that it is being used.I installed this lift in my horse shed to haul bales of hay into its loft, which is about eight feet above the floor. As you can see from the photo, I mounted this lift on a 1-inch diameter galvanized pipe, which is secured on both ends between the shed's roof joists with two galvanized floor flanges. The pipe also allows me to slide the lift to swing the hay bales into the loft from the opening. The lift comes with canvas slings for hauling bulky items but the bailed hay strings are sufficiently strong when we put both of them into lift's hook.My video shows the operating speed and sound of the lift. I needed to use only the single-cable installation because the hay bales we store do not exceed sixty pounds. A double cable installation will double the lifting capacity but reduce the lifting speed by half. In the single-cable mode, rated for 110 US pounds, this lift will raise a bale of hay from the floor of our shed into the loft in about fifteen or sixteen seconds. Lowering the bales takes about the same amount of time. For us, the controller cable is just the right length for us to use. We can then toss the controller into the loft to keep our horse from messing with it. This lift's 1/3 HP, 220 watt motor puts no stress on our shed's electrical system.Except for the 25% duty cycle, which eventually slows down the storage of multiple bales of hay, this lift greatly reduces the work involved from lifting or lowering bales into or from our loft. In summary, considering this lift's modest cost, simple installation and features it has been a good alternative to using a rope and pulley. It's 25% duty cycle cost it one star in my otherwise positive rating.

does what it says
does what it says. lifts heavy items very well. using it to lift 80 lb. tubs into the attic in the garage 15ft up. does not labor at all. remote cord a little short for the height but can reach it. remote cord 6ft. in length. very happy with this winch. don't let the size fool you. quality all the way.

Great for lifting keep hardtop.
Wanted something that wasn’t crazy expensive to help with getting my jeep’s hardtop off and on. This little guy is perfect. Has plenty of capacity for my two door hard top. A four door hardtop may push its limits. Would recommend.

initially found it didnt work
when i set up the hoist it i couldnt get it to work and ask for a replace mentbut i had a friend come over and showed me it had a trip switch i needed to resetnow the hoist works perfectly and oh btw amazon had a replacement to me in 3 daysi like this unit and for sure would buy it again in the image you will see the hoist on a swing arm note i considering in making one myself but found a swing arm on the net that the hoist slides onto easily and has a 180 swing arc I bought the 240 lb hoist than can be mod to lift 400 lbs the one draw back is the short power cord and electrical cables since i am partially disabled I use it to lift firewood / groceries up to top floor living space 30 ft in my house

Got four of them
The media could not be loaded. Got four to lift chandlers at at burlesque club with 18 foot ceilings. I cant speak to the max weight as the light fixtures are about 20lb. It is plenty fast for my use. I was lookkng for the smallest posible. I added about fifty feet to the remote with four wire 14 gage with black rubber coating. Not to terribly hard. Just cut the wire. Strip it. Wire nut the extension wire. Tape it up. And your good to go. Just a note. Electrical power goes through that on off switch. Make sure you do it when its not pluged in. Also. Its not too loud.Liked the concept so much we are hanging everything on hoists instead of buying a scissor lift.

Didn’t work at first.
Unit only hums. Doesn’t go up or down.Hoping it’s something that I’m missing and looking for additional inputUpdate: I took the thing apart. The cover that goes on the back side was so crooked that it interfered with the fan. Reassembled and installed the cover properly. No problems now.
