Makita GA7911 Angle Sander, with AC/DC Switch

I selected this model based on reviews here and the fact that Amazon's technical features stated it was variable speed. It is NOT. I would not have purchased this model had I known that. ALSO EXTREMELY ANNOYING, is that the guards ARE NOT INCLUDED and they are darn hard to find. Because this model can support 7" and 9" wheels, I bought two guards which cost $83.00.So, add $83.00 on top of an already very expensive grinder. It was a bit of a stretch for me to rationalize buying this clearly superior tool. Having to buy the safety guards was a slap in the face.Even though I have not used the tool yet (dangerous without guards) I gave it five stars. This is built like a tank!! And all my other Makita tools are serving me well.

Good tool BUT has a severe design flaw. The locking button is very weak and can result in split gear cases. The lock button engages the arbor shaft at a very small diameter putting lots of stress on it, rather than engaging farther out on the arbor gear. When you look at the newer grinders, you’ll notice they engage out wide on top of the arbor gear.

This was purchased as an addition to the other 2 of the exact same model we already have in use and have had for quite a few years. It's an excellent performer, has good weight and is balanced nicely. With the metal case it is durable enough to handle severe service in our repair and manufacturing businesses. The brushes are easily replaceable when it becomes necessary.

Do not buy and use for any heavy duty work. Will not hold up. Started smoking and burnt up after using for 30 min straight

This is the old style metal housing and holds up much better than the old plastic heads for our needs. We've purchased several and like thnew/old model.

I’ve been welding on my own for 20 + years and I have one of these , going on the 3 set of brushes now. It’s lasted me oil field welding and shop welding for 18-19 years now, that’s why I bought one new back then150.00

My brother-in-law started using this tool as soon as he got it and it was well worth it.

ATTENTION, ce produit pourrais vous sortir des mains si vous ne le tener pas. Made in JAPAN, 15Amperes de puissance, la vitesse ne baisse pas si vous avez le courant pour pousser. Un VRAI boffer de shop OLD SCHOOL ou pour homme comme on dirai, pas de guarde. FULL métal étincelle!

Es una maravilla de herramienta, me tocó comprarlo en muy buen momento ya que estaba a mitad de precio. Muy potente y resistente para trabajo pesado. Recomendable al 100%.

Super robuste le meilleur de makita et s'Est vrai. Il manquait toutefois un morceau dans la boite.
