Yes there are cheaper tools. There are lots of ways to do this tool wrong. Don't make it deep enough and your ratchet will hit the BB. Use the wrench type and you may not get flush enough to the frame. I tried a cheaper version of this tool from another company and ran into the issues above. Just buy the Park model, like almost everything else they make it will stay in your toolbox for life.

Good tight fit on wheelsmfg 386evo 30mm bottom bracket
Minus 2 stars for aluminum construction. There is no reason to save toolbox weight. Steel is more durable than aluminum.

Solid durable and well machined
Solid well machined part grabbed the bottom bracket I was installing nice and firmly. Feels and looks durable.
