School Specialty Double Needle Etching Tool

Works well, but dulls fairly quickly. Others I've used lasted a bit longer than this one, but they can be easily sharpened back to a fine point. I was using this for a printmaking class where we did self portraits on zinc plates. I didnt have to sharpen during the project yet since it has the two sides, but if I do any more with this tool, I will need to re sharpen before I do any more. The other problem is the grip on it could deffinitly be improved. I got bruises on my fingers from using it. The way I had to fix this was I wrapped cotton with masking tape around it like a pencil grip, and annit's annoying, but it works.

I used a couple of these to do some dry-point etching on an acrylic glass sheet and they worked well enough. They're pretty heavy but all it took was a light touch to do what I needed to do so they basically pushed themselves down.

Once I worked the tips out a little... some kind of paint protecting the blade, these worked better than the fancy ones or even my jewelers dremel. I recommend this especially for etching on sheet acrylic, intaglio ink, dry-point....

Great precision and quality, just wrap tape around it if your thumb feels tired.

both of the tips are uneven and create a very jagged score. it's difficult to produce a smooth mark.a disappointing purchase.

great product, i took a printmaking course and used it a lot. My teacher recommended this product to all the students, good quality and easy to grab.

Bought this etching needle for a printmaking class, and love it. It's easy to use, sharp, and makes nice crisp lines on plexiglass
