The media could not be loaded.  I purchased this for my 88 year old father to occupy his time during the cold winter days; actually, this train was his 3D wooden puzzle. He absolutely loved putting each one of them together. I’ll treasure them always. Now, to select the next one.....

My eight year old bought this product and we built it together. It wasn’t difficult, but it did take a long time (about 4 hours). We found using tweezers for the tiny parts was very helpful. The device itself works better than expected. However, the light bulb is very light so it works best in an almost pitch black room. My son loves it!

Very fun to put together. Some of the pieces were difficult to connect, but my girlfriend and I were drunk so that might be on us.

I built this with my 9 year old daughter , it was awesome! Great quality time and a fantastic outcome. She loved it in her room. We can’t wait to get started on another one.

I started purchasing from this company to give to my dad as gifts. He’s extremely good with puzzles and building things, so I knew he’d enjoy this type of thing. The items made are interactive in some way with cranks and gears. So far, he’s made a locomotive that races across the floor and makes chuffing noises and a marble maze/rollercoaster. He was delighted to receive this one because of the nostalgia. It has an actual film strip in it, a generator to run the light, and makes authentic clicking sounds. He reports that these kits are made with high quality materials and take about a week for him to put together. To date, work is still in progress. But if it’s anything like the other two kits, it’ll be pretty neat to play with when finished. I definitely will be ordering more from this company in the future.

This was my first wooden puzzle and I loved it! Works as advertised. Make sure to wax all the gears.

The media could not be loaded.  I really enjoyed building this kit! It was my first time building a wood kit, so it took longer for me to build than I thought it would (somewhere between 4-6 hours). Somehow I thought it would be twice the size, but this allows for it to easily fit on shelves. I think this would be a great gift if they're into things like lego kits.Tips: When building, pay attention to detail! It's important that you don't put pieces on the wrong side or else you'll have to take it apart and rebuild.There were times where the wood pieces chipped/ cracked, but they didn't hinder the building process for me. There were 2 pieces that cracked pretty bad but still held on. These pieces actually had backups, so I could've used them, but there isn't an easy way to check if they would be used later on in the build or if they were backups.Also double-check to make sure you are doing a step correctly. There were times where I forgot to include a piece (the plastic tubes) and had to get pliers in order to remove some of the rods that were very hard to get out by hand to reverse the step.Another thing- don't worry if it seems very loose/ rickety in the first couple of steps. I was worried that the vitascope wouldn't actually work and was disappointed, but as you continue building there will be steps that will tighten and secure the build, so do not fret!

I did not like how hard it was to remove some of the peices. Some peices broke while being removed from the templates. Plus noticed lots of little chip in the peices when removed and some of the peices did not fit properly. Had to glue some peices

Awesome project. It didn't take long to put together and it actually works well. I had to retape the film strip once, but other than that, I love it. Want to build more.

This is the second product bought from this company. Again I am very happy with the quality and the enjoyment of putting it together. Bought for a Dad on Father's Day. A father and son activity.

Bought for a friend's birthday. Apparently she loved it.
