I have some very expensive, antique oriental plates that have been sitting in a drawer for many decades. The wire plate hangers available in many stores did not seem sturdy enough, and I could not find the antique iron ones seen in Europe. The Flatirons adhesive plate hanging discs come with excellent instructions, and are easy to use. However, 24 hours after applying a disc on 8 of my plates, I discovered 2 did not adhere well. Luckily, I had 2 extra discs; the second time around they worked well. It may sound crazy, but because my plates were so expensive I placed a thin strip of duct tape along 2 sides of the disc on the back of each plate as a safeguard. I think the discs are a great idea. The plates look fantastic on my wall without seeing any annoying wire or hooks.UPDATE: I found one of my expensive plates shattered all over the floor 3 weeks after hanging. I do not recommend this product.

I've been using these off and on for the past 5 years and absolutely love them. I only use them with plates that I know I'm keeping and not one that I may end up selling later on in life. If you follow the directions exactly as it says and don't use too much water, and be sure to let them sit for 24 hours--they are fantastic. I would never ever buy those stupid brass racks that hold the plates...they're awkward and ugly and could chip a delicate plate from pressure. And I did not get paid for this review. I wish I did. I love earning money!

Would give no stars if I could. We lost a beloved heirloom flow blue plate when it fell off the wall and shattered a week after (correctly) applying the adhesive disk. Another disk peeled off the day after adhesion - lucky I was holding it at the time. I followed each and every step of the application instructions EXACTLY as described. These are beyond worthless.

I have had plates up for 11 years, some large platers some small and the bond is still strong. I wouldn't hesitate to hang expensive items, just read the easy instruction.

I used the flat iron discs to hang antique plates of varying sizes. I followed the easy instructions and the discs worked just as described. I love that there are no brackets or wires showing and no potential damage or scratching to my plates. I recommend this quality product.

I was skeptical when I first saw these on line because I am used to the brass hook and spring type however these ones turned out to be super easy to use and you cannot see any hooks from the front of the plate.

Expensive. However, these work so well on my hanging wall plates that I’ve accumulated. Some are real China, porcelain, or plastic. I’ve had no issue with any falling or peeling off from any plate. No unsightly prongs like mosh plate hangers have showing. I will continue to purchase as long as I collect plates to hang!

These things work better than any other plate hanger! Works on anything (with a hard surface) you need to hang really. Fantastic for gallery wall items.
