I wanted a big, sturdy sink for our kitchen remodel. The layout demanded a 30" sink base, this was the biggest sink that the description said fit a 30" base, so we took a chance on it. Our local Kraftmaid rep happened to be at our house to issue replacement doors, and we spoke with him about our sink plans. We were concerned about compromising the structural integrity of the sink, or voiding the manufacturer's excellent warranty. We would have to cut out part of the wood on the top of both sides to get the sink to fit. He said that in no way would it void Kraftmaid's warranty. The wood pieces we were cutting apparently are for attaching Formica to the top of the cabinet - they do not affect the structural integrity of the cabinet at all! There is enough room in the base to leave ~1" on either side of the sink, once the cut has been made. We were thrilled and ordered the Kraus that day. Our plumber was impressed with the quality of the sink. We got lucky with installation, we had less than 1/4" clearance for the drain pipe underneath because we had not anticipated such a deep sink and drain - definitely make sure your plumber has the spec sheet info for the depth of the drain so he allows enough room underneath for the drain rough-in. We are so glad we did! The sink is cavernous - we can stack a pile of dirty dishes on one side, and strain a pot of pasta into a full-sized colander on the other. Overall a beautiful, durable sink for an excellent price, comes with all the accessories, and fits into a 30" sink base - this was a home run in our reno and one of the few decisions we didn't agonize over or second-guess (once we knew it would fit!) We would have loved to support an American company (the Kraus is made in China), however we put chunks of our reno budget towards bigger ticket items made in the USA (appliances, cabinets, etc), and were happy to get a quality sink for a reasonable price.

After 8 months of using this sink, I love it. I originally wanted a sink with square corners, also from Amazon. But this one was available used for under $100, so I decided that I don't like the square ones as much. When I opened the box, it looked brand new! After the contractor installed it, the sink looks beautiful in my kitchen, sturdy, heavy, and quiet! I got the "scratch resistant" version, which has tiny bumps all over. I'm not sure if it makes a different vs the smooth version, but I don't see obvious scratches. It looks like the day I got it. I cook 90% of our meals, so this sink sees a lot of dishes and heavy pots & pans. Might be a personal preference, but I really like the rounded corners. They are easier to wipe down. Some people complain about maintenance and water spots. Any stainless steel sink will retain water spot if you don't wipe it dry right away. It's similar to your stainless mixing bowls or pots & pans. Even some stainless steel appliances behave the same way. Personally I think the scratch resistant bumps hide the water spots better. I saw other stainless sinks at friends' homes with heavy water spots. Maintenance: The sink itself is easy to wipe down. The manufacturer includes a grate to prevent dishes from scratching the bottom of the sink. It means there's another think you have to clean (this is true for all stainless steel sink). You can choose not to use it. But I find cleaning it isn't too bad. I use and old toothbrush, squeeze some dish soap on it, the scrubs the intersections of the wire. Remember to scrub around the rubber feet and side bumpers, too. Then I flip the grate over and do it again. Rise with water when done. Take maybe 2-3 mins to do the whole thing. I'm also impressed that there is no rust on the grate. I'm very happy with this sink; it's my best kitchen renovation purchase. I can’t believe the deal that I got on such a quality sink. Get it, you’ll love it.

I really like this sink. It fit perfectly and it comes with all the equipment you need to either replace or add to a new kitchen. The model I purchased is scratch resistant so there is a texture to it making the surface it but rough compared to what you would normally see in a kitchen sink. It’s not like sand paper where you will wreak your dishes and cups but almost reminds of running your hand on jean material. The installation was really easy because it has a cardboard cut out so you can determine the sizing. It also comes with mounting brackets. It comes with a drain catcher that fits perfectly. The gasket that touches the sink was a foam one so I made an executive decision to just use plumbers putty. It’s never let me down and the foam gasket made be a bit weary to use it. The colour is a light silver. I think most sinks are a bit darker or at least the old on I replaced was darker than this one but it is a nice colour. I am super pleased with how it all went and it is a positive change to my kitchen.
