Great home waxing product!
I stopped going to the salons to get my face waxed years ago but the home waxing product I loved stopped producing the product so I had to search for something else. After reading reviews and shopping around, I decided to give Parissa a try. I was happy to find the microwaveable wax as that is what I was using with the previous brand. It takes a little longer to heat up but that's okay. Easy to apply and it works great. It doesn't irritate my skin and does what I need it to do. I REALLY like the after-wax soothing spray! That is way better than what I used to use.Really pleased with this product and would highly recommend!

How to: at-home Brazilian wax.
If you've been wondering if you can wax at home -- you can.If you've been trying to figure out just how to give yourself an at-home Brazilian wax -- learn from my experience!Plus, parissa is cruelty-free. You can't miss. How to:Step 1: Do NOT skip this step! You'll want to get your first wax professionally. It's painful (I mean, come on.. it's waxing).. but mostly it's painful because it's your first time and you have lots of hair follicles.Step 2: Repeat getting it professionally for a while. Your follicles will begin to damage over time and your hair will grow back more sparsely in a few months.Step 3: Begin practicing waxing yourself (if you're up for it) with those strips that are pre-waxed. Trust me! It's easier when you're trying to get up the courage the rip out your own hairs. It can take some convincing! I used these for nearly a year. It won't be as perfect as when you have it professionally done but it's great practice. You can periodically have it done professionally as well. Just keep practicing!Step 4: Once you've finally used to waxing yourself and want to try it.. use this warm wax. It works GREAT! Once it's no longer scary to wax your own hairs, you can concentrate on using a gooey wax like this.I love this one. It does a MUCH better job than the pre-waxed strips (also parissa). But you have to go about this one step at a time. Then you can start giving yourself professional-looking wax jobs at home.It works!

Messy, Stickey, but Effective
You have to put the jar in the microwave, but I had no idea how long to cook it. I first tried 1 minute, and then decided it needed another minute. Then you cannot touch it, because it is way too hot, so I put on my glove that I use to take out hot pans out of the oven, and carried it to the bathroom. I dripped it on my rugs, and its still there. I had a hard time to get the right amount of wax on my legs, since I'm not an expert at this. But I did manage to get a fair amount on my leg, and then I put the strip on top of the wax and pulled, and it did not hurt at all. But, for some reason, it did not work very good. I still had hair on my legs. So I tried it again, on the same area, and it still did not work correctly. So I just tried to put more wax on my legs, and tried it again, and it sort of works. I have had my legs professionally waxed, and tried to do it the same way the wax person did it, but I could not get rid of all of the hair. I'm not sure why this doesn't work the way it does in the salons. So . . . you can try it, and it sort of works, but its a total mess, you get it all over you, it drips on the floors/rugs, and its very stickey. I had left over wax on me for days.

Be careful, the plastic containers are melting and spilling
I've used the product for a couple of years now, with the heating pad, because my previous product was discontinued. I've left the wax to heat throughout the day/ 8 hours with no problem. The past few uses, after purchasing a new batch of wax, after only 1 hour the plastic containers are melting and spilling onto the heating pad. I don't think it's the heating pad, because I purchased a new one due to damage and the same thing just happened.I suspect they are using recycled plastic, which is fantastic, but the quality has cheapened and can not withstand intense heat. Perhaps amazon is selling defective or lower grade quality, I don’t know and wouldn’t be surprised, Amazon is cheaper for a reason. No way would I risk microwaving this, due to the potential to leak and spill. This wax is very messy and hard to clean up.I've read customer questions, do not use it on your face, it's serious wax (does the job well) and can rip your skin in sensitive areas.I have coarse hair and this wax has done really well for me, I rarely have to go over an area twice, and it gets hot and sticky enough to cover my whole leg at once before cooling.Too bad I don't trust the product anymore, and will have to switch.I will be contacting Parissa for a refund of $50.00 in heating pads, and 3-4 melted/unusable containers of $12.99 wax, about $100.00 that I'm not okay losing.

It’s okay
I’ve order this wax before, and it’s done very well in the past due to it being the only affordable was kit that would get the stubborn eye brows hairs. I’m not sure what it is but it rips my skin off far too easily. This wasn’t the case before so I’m a bit disappointed!

Does the job
Have used this product a number of times and I find it easy to use. I have the perfect amount of wax and strips I need for the areas I wax.Great price, so much cheaper than having it done professionally.

After the learning curve, this is life changing!
Like many other people in the world with body hair, I also embarked on the journey of attempting to wax myself during quarantine. After experimenting (mostly unsuccessfully) with drug-store cold wax strip and cooking my own sugar wax, I gave this wax a chance. I am here to share the wisdom I've collected over the last few very adventurous months.Get a wax warmer: Running to the microwave mid wax session is a nightmare, not to mention the money wasted if you dare microwave 7 seconds too long and end up with a rock-hard substance.Dedicate a towel to waxing: The wax is unbelievably sticky. It will reliably stick to the stubbornest of hair, but it will also (again reliably) stick to bedsheets, t-shirts, and any other unsuspecting household fabrics. Dedicate a towel for this long-term relationship with self-waxing sessions.Keep Corn starch or baby powder on hand: Helps to keep skin dry, but also great for preventing a transfer disaster. Any spills on the aforementioned towel should be powdered before they accidently stick to your elbow, and the pillow, and the wall...Mineral/baby oil: The provided oil works great if you are the size of Tinkerbell. It won't suffice for full-body. Have an oil backup to remove residue after waxing. Do not get up to walk the long journey to the bathroom while contaminated with sticky wax residue on any part of your body.Work swiftly with a steady hand to avoid dripping. (Surprise: Takes practice) Once you get the hang of it, waxing will be a practically-drip free experience.Caution around delicate skin: Did I mention this wax is sticky? It will pull off layers of skin from *delicate* areas. With that said, some tips will increase the odds of a successful wax down under.- Cut the strips into sections, and work with very small areas of skin. Be patient, your skin will thank you.- Get over the fear. Don't count to 10. Just pull the damn strip. Any hesitation will be enough time for the wax to cool down and rip off skin.- Use a mirror and find a comfortable position. The more comfortable and confident you are, the more successful the experience will be.In all honesty, I have grown to love this wax and can not see myself going back to salons. Once you are experienced enough, one tub of wax (and maybe two hours including cleanup) will cover for a full-body session.Congratulations on making it to the end of this review. You are now equipped with the knowledge to become a self-waxing goddess (or however you identify your new superpower). Happy grooming!
