PLATO Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil Kibble Topper - Boost Dog Food with Omega 3 & 6 Fatty Acids - For Healthy Skin & Coat - 8 ounces

We use this daily for both of our big, Northern (read: high shed) breed dogs. It seems to have especially helped our Husky-Shepherd mix's coat, making it silkier and, I'd say, noticeably cut down on her shedding. Sadly, nothing seems to make much difference for our Great Pyrenees mix, who seems to leave a puppy's worth of white fur per day on our furniture and (unfortunately dark) stone floor. Still, I don't think this hurts anything in the least and though we've tried several brands and methods of getting salmon oil into their diets, Plato has become our preferred brand not only because it's reasonably priced AND offered via Subscribe and Save (which is awesome when you go through 1-1/2 bottles/month), but also because it's wild caught, doesn't need to be refrigerated and I've found the pump dispenser keeps everything clean and makes this amongst the easiest of the brands I've tried to use. And though there's a definite fish smell, it doesn't overwhelm in the bowl, OR on their breath. Both dogs love the taste and even if the shedding hasn't improved dramatically on our Pyr, I still feel like there's enough benefits to keep using this product for both dogs long term. We do five squirts per dog, morning and night, on top of their food. Only takes a second.

I absolutely love this salmon oil! I have been using since 12/13 and it has tremendously helped my dog. Some background info: my dog is on the downslope of middle age, He is a healthy weight 65lb pit/am bulldog mix, highly sensitive to all dog food with grain, severe seasonal allergies and skin allergies, and refuses the soft gels available at local pet stores whether given or cracked open. He regularly gets yeast infections on his paws, UTIs, skin rashes, and loose stool. This salmon oil was step 3 of our elimination diet reintroduction. We had stopped using all the products recommended by our previous vet(s) and with the guidance of our new vet, started him on a new food, Halo Spots Grain Free Surf n turf. After the intro period with no reactions and the clearing up of several skin issues, we started cleaning his paws 3x weekly with apple cider vinegar as well as adding some to his daily water to help with the reoccurring UTIs. That helped his yeast infections that were still present but not as bad as previously. But he still was getting infrequent UTIs and had mild dry, itchy skin, and achy muscles. Then we started using the salmon oil. Within a week is coat was glossy and itch free! He was having an easier time going up and down the stairs and his urine was becoming clearer with no mini mt dew accidents. There is a noticeable difference in his coat and body if a few days are skipped or when I forgot to reorder it. He begs for it to squirted onto his food and reminds my husband if he forgets. He nudges the bowl away if it's not on his food, though he loved the food before he just loves it more with the oil. I love that it is on amazon subscribe and save, no more forgetting! In the 3 months of consistent use, with the help of new food and acv, he has had no UTIs in 2 months(miracle!), coat is shiny and flake free, and his mobility has increased dramatically. We are on bottle 2, almost bottle 3, using 4-5 pumps a day. Great bang for your buck. The pump is easy to use and has never clogged, nor does it spray all over or very far. I set it next to his bowl, pump, and it falls directly in the middle. No mess. A wonderful product that is on my monthly delivery from Amazon!

My dog loves it

I use salmon or fish oil very often for my animals. This is one that I like and have used before, but this was the first time purchasing it from Amazon. I'm not sure if this was an issue with the company or Amazon's shipping, the first bottle I got had a broken pump and oil all through the bag. They sent a replacement very quickly without any issues which is great. The second one I received the pump was loose and leaked oil in the bag. I am able to at least use this one, even with the lost product. Maybe separating the pump and sealing the bottle better will help with this issue.

I have 4 German Shepherd that is my son's dog and they are known for skin issues so I bought him for her when she was a pup and she's been on it her entire life. Her coat is BEAUTIFUL!!! She is now with me for a year and I have a 2-1/2 year old that got into the shepherd's food bowl that was empty and he was liking that bowl like it was caviar. So I started putting it in his food and never NEVER act his food without me having to put a topper on it but now when I put his kibble in his bowl he watches me intently and when I get the Plato bottle and begin squirting it in his food he will just lie flat on the floor looking up at me with those big beautiful eyes and when I start walking towards him with his bowl and stands up and that all is wagging like crazy and he will eat all of his food so fast. And his hair (they have hair not fur) was already soft so it hasn't made a difference there but he would get these dry scabs every now and then. Since on this salmon oil he hasn't had one scab so its definitely helped his dry skin. Plato is a California company that makes OUTSTANDING and healthy Dog treats and supplements and it won't break the bank compared to some others I've seen. Give it a try. If you dog likes fish, they'll love this but not every dog likes fish so be mindful.

Did not agree well with my beagle. She would always gag and choke after consuming the oil with her food. When I stopped giving it to her she didn’t have any more problems. I do not recommend this at all. Also the packaging was horrible and alot had spilled out and got all over the outside of the package.

Both of my dogs love this! It must taste good because everytime I go to the fridge with their food bowls they get all excited! My German shepherds coat is so shiny since using this, because of all the health benefits. The pump makes it super easy to use too. I appreciate it doesn’t have a strong smell for us humans

Very Effective

Truly enjoy using this product for my pet. Easy to dispense and he truly loves the taste. Has improved his skin and coat. No skin flakes, and hair no longer feels dried out. Highly recommend this product will be buying again.

Do not buy this. First 1 I bought came and 1/2 the bottle had leaked. It had a sticker taped around the nozzle. I contacted amazon and they refunded me. I purchased this one from what looked like a diffrent company. 1/2 way through the bottle it turned to jelly. Seems super unsafe for my pets. Would not recommend!
