It is only non-stick for cakes, if you grease the pan before use.
This pan has a nice design, with a thin trough around the external base edge -- as a protective measure -- just in case thin batter droplets might escape from the enclosure before the baking process starts. During our use, we never had any issue with cake batter escaping, so that is very good. The non-stick coat is nice and slick; however, this non-stick quality does not reach the excelling non-stick quality level of typical non-stick teflon skillets on the market. On teflon skillets, one can fry eggs without oil, and even bake in there, and the skillet's teflon surface will serve you faithfully to the end if you make sure not to mark the teflon surface. Teflon skillets have a teflon coating unlike all other non-stick bakeware. If you pre-grease this Ballarini non-stick pan well before adding the cake batter, it will be very easy to release the baked cake from the pan without damaging the slick surface. So that works fine. On the other hand, we would strongly advice against ever trying to bake an angel food cake in this pan, because the cake will stick so fervently, that it will be a total nightmare to clean the baked dough layer from the pan surface. Yes, that happened to us. The cake came out great and fluffy, and the edges were only lightly browned, so the cake was a total success; however, it left a super-thin steadfast coat of baked dough on the pan surface that was nearly impossible to clean without damaging the non-stick surface. It took 1 whole hour to carefully rub off the baked dough with our fingers, and with hot water, soap, bicarbonate, and who knows what we did not try! So yes, this Ballarini pan has a good non-stick surface; however, it is no match for the non-stick capabilities of ordinary teflon skillets. One would ask why we would try to bake an angel food cake in this pan, and the answer is that we do not want to fortify our diet with aluminum or tin. All the other metal pans on the market (that are not non-stick) are made of aluminum or tin. Aluminum intake is associated with alzheimer's disease, and tin is associated with gastrointestinal issues, reproductive harm, and neurological disorders. Chrome-plated metals are not a good choice either, because it is difficult to notice when the plated chrome coating starts to rub off - leading you to be exposed to the crappy metal under the surface. Springform cake pans made of stainless steel do not exist on our earth, and that is an unusual phenomenon indeed. If we ever get abducted by an alien, our first request will be for a non-stick springform cake pan that works for angel food cake. Or better yet, we will bargain for a stainless steel springform pan. If we cannot find it on earth, it will surely exist somewhere else in the universe, because there must be other people out there who have encountered it and solved it elsewhere, maybe 10 light years away.

Inside bottom dented; it may leak!
And no more are available. The pan was loose in its delivery box which was dropped over the gate, even though I repeatedly told drivers about putting deliveries into the locking garbage can just outside the gate. Whether the drop dented the side of the funnel bottom or not, one does not know. The dent was not noticed when I washed the pan by hand. The 10.25-inch pan I have used for years is a wonderful kitchen tool and I had high hopes for this 11-inch pan.I will use the pan because the batter is ready and the oven is hot,. Rarely, rarely does an order from Amazon disappoint. Perhaps it will not leak. However, these are wonderfully crafted items and every baker deserves one. Undented, of course.

Was excited to try this springform Bundt pan, but….
Pound cake recipe stuck to this pan as bad or worse than the pans I already own. Good news , it didn’t leak. I’ve not tried this pad as a regular layer cake, but it may be fine for that.

Product is ok material flimsy.
The metal is light weight. Not the thick metal I expected. For the price it’s adequate, I don’t hold out much hope for longevity if used often. It’s an ok purchase.

Ballarini Spring Form Pan
Received with a small dent (flat spot) on the bottom flat pan and ring. Looks like it may have been either dropped, or pushed against something. Doesn't seem to have effected the purpose. I make a lot of cheesecakes for family/friends and work potlucks, and this style of pan is my favorite to use. Doesn't feel flimsy, and the additional insert makes the value even better.

LEAKS, NOT UP TO THE ITALIAN QUALITY
Extremely disappointed for a product made in Italy. Just put a Ricotta cheesecake in the oven and went to check on it after 15 minutes. There is batter that dripped to the oven bottom, leaking from where the clasp closes the pan.

Total garbage!!!
This product was sent to me like this. Rusty and chipped coating, and dirty. This item being shipped, as it is, should be an embarrassment for the supplier.A total waste of money. Total garbage.
