Great selection, poor packaging.
This is a great CD set for a very reasonable price, though it is a pity about the poor quality of the packaging. Mine arrived squashed and as a result now has a rather prominent crease down the spine of the case, the discs are also housed poorly, you have to slide them in and out of the cardboard sleeve which I imagine will scratch them before long. That being said the artwork on the packaging is very nice with a smooth matte finish that feels nice to hold. The content on the discs consists of a rather good selection of well known doo wop classics and perhaps a handful of lesser known tracks, making this an ideal set for those who want to get an idea of what the genre has to offer. The sound quality is also excellent. I would happily recommend this product to anybody and everybody, but it might be a good idea to make yourself a digital copy before the discs eventually get scratched to pieces.

'AN INTERESTING COLLECTION OF MEMORIES FOR COLLECTORS OF THE DOO-WOP MUSIC-SCENE TO CHECK OUT'
Often seen as the fore-runner to Rock'n'roll the 'swing/blues - 'gospel/spiritual music style known as Doo-Wop emerged duringthe 40's in several U.S towns within its Africa-American communities, as the harmony style caught on it gained a wider audienceduring the fifties into the early sixties, though it's popularity waned after that boom era it has in recent times enjoyed somethingof a revival and has quite a following. This 4-CD Compilation covers in the main the 50's scene in Doo Wop, with many artists that are instantly recognisable to followers of music during those times such as 'The Coasters' - 'The Platters' - 'Frankie Lymon' - 'Dion' - 'The Drifters' and the'Chordettes' all familiar visitors to the U.K Charts back in the 50's.Many of the groups on-board were better known on the American-Music-Scene of course many such as the 'Clovers' enjoying much in the way of Chart-Success especially in the R&B.Those who follow Doo-Wop will be familiar with most of the artists included i'm sure, but, even those who didn't necessarily followthis style of music will know many of the songs if not the artists, such as - 'The Flamingo's' - 'I Only Have Eyes For You'......'ThePlatters' - My Prayer' (a number '4' hit here in the U.K in 1956)......'The Crests' - 'Sixteen Candles'......'Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers' - 'I'm Not A Juvenile Delinquent'......and......'The Coasters' - 'Charlie Brown' (a favourite of mine back in the late 50's)...just some of the gems of yester-year to be found upon disc one......and among disc two's listings......'The Dells' - 'Oh What A Night'......'The Platters' - 'Only You'......'The Orioles' - 'Crying in the Chapel'......'The Cleftones' - 'Little Girl of Mine'......and......'TheSpaniels' - 'Goodnight Sweetheart'......just some of the many memories to be found among disc two's listings......and on disc three....'Frankie Lymon' - 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love' (a number '1' hit in the U.K 1956)......'The Diamonds' - 'Little Darlin''......'The Chordettes' - 'Lollipop'......'The Flamingo's' - 'The Vow'......and......'The Elegants' - 'Little Star'......again just some of the numbers that can be found upon disc three......disc four......'Danny and the Juniors' - 'At the Hop' (a number '3' Chart-Hit U.K 1958)......'TheMoontones' - 'Book of Love'.......'The Clovers' - 'Love Potion No 9'......'The Platters' - 'Smoke Gets in Your Eyes' (perhaps their best remembered number which did reach the Top-Spot here in the U.K in 1959)......and......'The Olympics' - 'Western Movies'...just some of the fondly remembered tracks that can be found on disc four of this collection........as i often do, i've quite simplyhighlighted one or two tracks from each of the four discs on this Compilation to give a feel of the content that can be found on-board.,Many of the songs on this collection have of course been successfully been recorded by other artists down the years, the favourites always prevail.,The '101' music-series does appear to be worth keeping an eye on, this issue offers followers of this genre of music a greatinsight into it's history from it's most successful era, collectors will i'm sure find one or two hard-to-find gems among the track-listings, worth checking out i feel,

Great songs
Brings back great memories!! Love this Era and sound quality is great. I don't understand some of the negative reviews citing only a few songs are familiar. Uh, list of songs were clearly listed and matched.
