Excellent reference and read
Extremely informative. I read this along side my psycholinguistics text to help me study language acquisition.

Awesome Introduction
This is a well written, easy to get into introduction. I am using some of these theories in my research in Biblical Hebrew and this book is a life saver

Disappointing
I'm only a little over a hundred pages in, but I'm not sure if I'll finish. There's a wealth of information in this book, but the writing and editing are frustratingly poor. The prose suffers from a gross overuse of commas, hyphens, and filler phrases, sometimes making the content itself harder to understand. You just hate to see such stark communication problems in a book about... communication.
