Good switch but narrow temp operating range
I had been using TrendNet switches for years and usually never had a problem with them. This particular switch has a fairly narrow temperature operating range extending to only 104F. Unfortunately I needed a PoE+ switch in my attic where the temperatures routinely hit the 118F mark in the summer. When they say 104F, they mean it. While the switch continues to function perfectly at temps above that I am unable to access it. I unplugged it for 5 minutes to let it cool down enough to reconfigure it, as soon as it exceeded 104F I couldn't access it. Even using a duct fan for cooling it was still unaccessible. I would recommend this switch to prosumers just based on the ruggedness, functionality and ease of configuration, but buyers should be aware of the temp operting limits. If you're need is for a switch for harsher environments I'd recommend a "hardened" industrial switch like the TI-PG80B which goes to 167F.

Great product for a resonable price
I use this as the central hub for all my security cameras. POE have enough juice to power them all. No more running siamese cables or trying to find another power source. No issues whatsoever.

Use caution. The switch works but not usable for advanced setups.
Why this functions as a POE switch the software and capabilities are lacking. Standard industry options are not available. VLANs are really not possible with this device. The documentation is severely lacking. In fairness I own other TRENDnet switches and am very happy with them just not the EdgeSmart

Reliable Switch
Easy Setup and does what I need. Works great

Okay POE switch for basic needs. Incomplete info for SNMP. Poor support.
If used as a smart mostly managed POE switch, it's fine. Well, you do have to use a static IP to get into the initial setup which is annoying. But after that, it seems fine and provides power over POE as advertised. Other annoyances and the reason for the low score are: 1) for some reason, if this switch loses power for more than a few minutes, devices won't connect back to the network and I won't be able to load the web portal to figure out what's wrong. I end up having to factory reset it, which makes me need to use the static IP address again. 2) even though it's advertised as a managed switch with SNMP, the complete MIB isn't available for download on their support site like with their other managed switches. I tried to reach out to support for details on the specific function I needed, but never got the answer. It's been almost a week since their last reply. Not great. This makes it worse than just buying a Netgear that lacks SNMP, but is more reliable with power outages.

Generally very good; but does not work with Dante
For the handful of people who use Dante audio networking technology, this switch will not work. I'll get to more general comments in a moment. Audinate recommends avoiding switches that use Energy Efficient Ethernet unless that feature can be disabled. This switch has the option to disable the feature, but it does not work. So Dante audio devices plugged into this switch will drop off of the network and audio will stop flowing. I spent a full day trying to get it to go, and ultimately had to give up and replace this switch with one from another manufacturer for my Dante network to function properly. This model isn't explicitly included on Audinate's 'does not work' list, but other models in the same family are, so it isn't surprising that it too has issues. For everyone else, this provides a lot of functionality for stepping up your network to the next level. It supports VLANs, LAGs, QoS, SNMP, Spanning Tree, port mirroring, PoE on the first four ports, among other features. The only management feature that I personally use regularly that it doesn't support is the ability to view the switch's MAC address table.

Quick to go out of the box
I just needed the POE function for some remote WAPs in my new home. Mounted in the SOHO plugged power and network in and that is all it took to get me going. Great Product.

Easy setup and no issues, does what it needs to do.
Awesome little switch with PoE support. Plug and play. Using these to power some APs and have been working flawlessly.

Exactly as described
Easy to set up, plug'n'play. POE on 8 ports with Gigabit speeds. Replaced an earlier version that shorted out. Seller had the unit to us in a timely manner - much appreciated.

Atrocious firmware
The switch itself may be fine, the firmware is atrocious. Constantly hangs and requires reboots to change any settings.
