I bought these because I needed a good pair of black boots for patrol work, and I was tired of trying the other combat style boots that didn’t hold up or were not comfortable for 12 hour shifts.. I have a pair of brown groundpounders that are around 6 to 7 years old and still going strong after a long hard abusused life, which is why I gave these a shot. My foot measures at an 11.5 wide, and that’s the size I bought these in agian. The size was perfect, a little snug at first which is typical with slide on boots. It took less then a week to break the boots in at wearing them for 6 to 12 hours a day. Once the broke in, they are just as comfortable as my older pair. My arch is on the lower to non existent side, which when these boots broke in, has not cause me any problems and are comfortable in the arch area.
