Sure the board is a bit on the pricey side but the upgraded stones make for a much better playing experience. Trust me on this, spend the extra on the pieces if you think you'll play often. I find players in our house "fiddle" with them before making the next move. I opened a new tab for every Go Board Yellow Mountain had to offer. This is the best combination besides perhaps the 2" board which I don't really think is needed. If you are wondering about the price differences, it's usually the pieces.The board arrive very well packed. I honestly don't know how these companies can afford the shipping costs, the box was massive. But inside, was a very well packaged and protected board. The board cover is a nice touch and I assume helps keep moisture away from the board that might otherwise warp it (we take the time to put the cover on after every time we play).There is a nice instruction booklet that comes with the set. This was more useful than I thought. Go is easy to learn but there are some unique situations you'll run into the which the little booklet often covers.I'd love to see this game take off. It's easy to learn and hard to master. I've heard this said before, but you really have to play to understand what people mean.We'll sometimes have speed games where we don't put too much thought into it and other times we'll have more well thought out games that sometimes take a couple of days to complete (due to busy schedules).Overall all a fantastic purchase and looks great on the table.
