Designed for the young, it contains a lot of interesting facts about this big cat–which makes it an entertaining and informative read for the adult as well. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous, and the writing is so very friendly. I especially loved Mr. Atkins’ suggestion to “put your pretend-eyes on”. What a cute way to pull a child into the story!He uses words in his beautiful book that are possibly a little more complex than would be in the vocabulary of a very small child, but this is so important in educating the young. Giving them words that they have to have defined for them is a challenge that every child should have.The author has another book out, “Meet the Lion”, and I’m sure that it is just as entertaining and fun to read as this one was. He certainly has a gift for relating to children.Nice job, Mr. Atkins.

I'm a reader who normally reads adult fiction (that entertains while educating), however after downloading and reading another in this "Meet The _____":Fun Facts and Cool Pictures series to my grandchildren, I decided to check out all. This time it's Meet the Jaguar --- another delightfully educational read.I must admit I'm loving these for several reasons.1) The writer articulates in a way that draws in readers of all ages.2) Each "Meet" is chock full of fun and accurate facts.3) The facts are in-depth yet easy to remember.4) Photos and illustrations really make the facts stick in ones mind.Once again it jogged my memory and in this case it was what my father taught me eons back: the black jaguar is one of three animals referred to as a panther.I am entertained and educated by this series and hope they are embraced by our school systems, both private and public.

This book told me several facts that I would have never known without it! Because of that, I think that this is one of the best books I have ever read! I bought this book because jaguars are my favorite animals, and I wanted to learn more about them. I really hope that my brother checks out one of the books in this series.

My 6-year-old son really likes the book. Nice photographs, interesting information, age-appropriate for a preschooler or early elementary child. However, as a copy editor, the writing made me cringe. It's self-published, and that was painfully obvious to me, though young children don't notice such things. The writing isn't bad; it just needs a little tweaking in order to appear professional. If the author is reading this, please contact me; I could very easily improve your writing on future books. :)

This book gives real information in a simple form that children of about 7 upwards will be able to read themselves, or it could be read to younger children. Some explanations might be necessary if you are reading it to young children, but the talking about a book afterwards is a major part of the value of reading to children.I learned a number of things from reading this book, and the pictures are good and bright so children should like them.

The pictures are amazing and that is why I purchased the book for my 3 yo granddaughter. My daughter asked if I had read it and I said "no". She laughed and said it was pretty realistic in facts about the jaguar including hunting and killing prey. So for now, they'll just skip over those parts. The pictures are great and my granddaughter loves them.

My nephew loves Jaguars, so I bought this book for him and he very much enjoyed reading this book.He was thrilled about the facts and the really cool pictures that were included in this short children's book.This is a great book to have a child excited about wild animals.

This book is mediocre writing, but the most shocking part was the calendar in the middle of the book full images of fornicating dogs. I’m hoping that this is some kind of publishing / printing error and not an intentional act.

I bought this book to learn more about the jaguar on World Jaguar Day celebrated on June 11. The book is filled with cool facts while taking the reader on an adventure. The book is written with big fonts with pictures on every page. This book will be enjoyed by children and adults alike. I particularly liked that my 8 year old children learned a lot about jaguars in an easy to read book with sufficient science background to write a big report. Great book overall.

I like this book because apart from it being an interesting subject it will make your children think. This book is in 2 parts, the second part is the more traditional factual book, but the first part is different, the author gets the reader to think as a jaguar and to act as an observer. Apart from some great content there are a lot of fantastic, quality pictures which really bring the subject to life. This is a great book and I recommend it.

My granddaughter had two cuddly jaguars for Christmas and when I saw this book was available I ordered it and my lovely lady friend handed it over as an extra gift. Lots of happiness all round. Jim Reynolds.
