yes, they would fit atop just about any size cake.

Are these pre-painted? Or do i have to paint them myself?

Not only do you have to paint them yourself, but you have to build them yourself as well, which I didn't realize when I bought this - needless to say it's still on my To-Do list! LOL

my question is: don’t you people read the description provided when you first look at an item!, this says: “model building kit”...?

What description? There is nothing that says it is a "model kit." I have bought 3 others that looked very similar (this one had a few extra pieces that weren't in the others) but they came assembled and painted. This would take a month to put together and paint. 10 ounces of molded plastic for $28.00? This would be a good joke, but I actually spent the money! Criminal.
