Genuine HoneywellTrue HEPA filter. 99.97% effective at removing particles as small as 0.3 microns from the air that passes through the filter. Fits Model 13520. Overall particle reduction depends on many factors including the amount of air processed, the pollutant type and the pollutants' introduction rate into the environment.

False advertising of sub-par, and potentially hazardous aftermarket replacment
This is NOT a Honeywell OEM replacement filter as they advertise. Their statement is patently false. The filter arrived only in a brown shipping box - no Honeywell box. The filter lacks the Honeywell replacement series sticker they put on their filters. The construction is different than the OEM part (slight differences in OD, ID, and height, and different outer material wrapping). Worst of all this filter had an obvious odor of formaldehyde to it. How it managed to retain this odor having been packaged in a shipping box, and not wrapped in plastic is beyond me.I didn't, and wouldn't, use this filter as it would likely do more harm than good.

Avoid these at all costs!!
It looks like Honeywell, they advertise it as Honeywell, but it ISN'T Honeywell. This filter stunk up the whole house so it reeked like rubber tires. We had to open all the windows, light candles, and leave. We've let this filter "air out" and off gas in the basement for 3 weeks and it still stinks to high Heavens so we're returning it and buying a REAL Honeywell filter elsewhere. Can't find anyone on Amazon who is selling the real filters and we don't want to go through this again.

Toxic rubber smell from Honeywell changing the ingredients used to make this filter. Fills the air with obnoxious odors!
It has a terrible rubber smell. I have researched this and found out they are now using cheaper, and more toxic ingredients in their filters and it gives off a rubber smell. Something that is supposed to clean and purify the air should not smell bad and put more toxins into the air. I placed it in a room where no one goes in to let it run for awhile hoping it would gass off the toxic smell but it only made the smell worse and now this sickening sweet smell comes out of it and is even stronger than the original rubber smell it had. I believe the ingredients used in on the ends of the filter are breaking down already and releasing toxic odors into the air. This filter used to have black plastic ends but now it is a soft black rubber. They obviously changed the ingredients they used to make these filters. No one who cares about air quality should be using this filter! I am assuming they changed to cheaper ingredients to keep up with the price competition from sellers using cheaper ingredients and selling these cheaper.

Got a good one.
Price is OK, the filter is comparable to the factory one plus the screen is there to prevent damage. The reviews say it had a smell and I was worried. It came in a cardboard box and could possibly smell a little like one at first. After running for a few hours along with the carbon pre filter it works good. You can buy one from other manufacturers but would likely be facing the same common problem of some byproducts from manufacturing and shipping. And also follow directions! Don't run it outside in the humidity and also if it is nearby even close to VOC products like spray paint it will draft into the air creating a scent and could likely damage the filter by trapping it in the trillions of tiny pores.

NOT Honeywell
So, Honeywell no longer makes a specific filter for this model. They use a modular filter now. This replaced the OEM original filter exactly, but does not carry the Honeywell brand. Otherwise, it completely met all expectations.

NOT a genuine Honeywell filter
I bought this filter because it was described in the Amazon site as: "Honeywell 24000 Replacement HEPA Filter by Honeywell." I also bought it because the price, $67.78, was much higher than the off-brand filters being sold by many competitors. I also bought it because I had come to trust Amazon. It is NOT a Honeywell filter. It is a cheap off brand that's being offered at an unusually high price for a cheap off brand, and that's what fooled me. They're clever! I did get a refund, but my e-mails to Allergy be Gone and the time it took to pack the filters back up and take them to a special Fed-Ex outlet to return them totaled about 4 hours.

Not a genuine Honeywell replacement part
the write up and the picture gave the impression that this was a genuine Honeywell replacement filter. It isn't but more than that, the filter they sent had a plastic or rubber mesh over the outside of the filter. While it was in the box being shipped, the odor of the mesh material became very strong and I sneezed before I even had it out of the box. I returned the first one and they sent me a second, but they both had the smell of the plastic/rubber. Not good for anyone with any allergies at all. I had no problems with the company, just the product. I do think the write up and picture are misleading.

Excellent company and filter - Thoroughly Impressed.
Top of the line. These are so much better than the crappy three set that Honeywell sells on their site as a replacement filter. I have four of the 24500 in my house and I love them. They are perfect for purifying air. I had a smoker staying in my basement for a while. I kept one of these in their room and one in the living room in the basement, I could never smell a cigarette. And she would smoke about 10 a day in the home. When I used the three individual ones that Honeywell now sells, the smell was 100% obvious upstairs, and downstairs just smelled like a bar. It was a night and day difference between these and the one that Honeywell now sells. Not to mention, this was about $30 cheaper. What a steal!

Product smells, shipper is realiable
Complaint about the product. No complaints about the shipper. I should have read the US Amazon site where people have complained about the product smelling, and the lack of branding on the filter. It comes in an unlabeled brown box. I think in a month, the smell will have dissipated. In Canada, however, options are limited - either you buy this filter or completely dispose of the air purifier unit. Thanks Honeywell.
